It is Bizzy78 who is the first to offer us real photos of the Series 8 minifigs (8833).
I took the liberty of grouping them together in a single image just to keep it short, but you can always go to his flickr gallery to zoom in on the characters that interest you.
Here are the first visuals of the 8 series of collectable minifigs. In short, it's done, we can move on ...
In all fairness, I've been collecting these minifigs since Series 1, and I've been feeling a bit weary and a lot less enthusiastic lately. It's endless, it looks pretty on a shelf (and again), and I'm starting to wonder if I should skip this 8th series.
Okay, come on, let's be crazy, one more or two and I'll quit ....
Okay, Series 7 is done. You have all seen what the minifigs in this series look like thanks to WhiteFang's review on Eurobricks. So let's move on to the next series: Series 8 ...
The only concrete information we have is the box presented at the New York Toy Fair 2012. The series 7 was also presented with a red box which corresponds to the bags that we have just discovered, so we can deduce without being too mistaken that the bags of the series 8 will be black, like the box presented during the living room.
Another lead, the LEGO Concept Designer Alexandre bourdon and his work on minifigs. If you look closely this board from his portfolio, you will see that many sketches that allowed him to get the job since 2010 have been materialized in the different series released to date. He was also at the origin of the Swamp Monster minifig from the new Monster Fighters range.
Obviously, we must be right and not draw too hasty conclusions, but we can legitimately hope that some concepts from these boards will emerge soon.
In short, we don't know much, but take the time to look at the boards he presents on his two portfolios, the answer may be in:
Alexandre Bourdon LEGO Application Portfolio 2010
Alexandre Bourdon LEGO Billund 2010
Note that Alexandre Bourdon agreed to submit to a little interview on Brickpirate. The answers to the questions asked are apparently being validated by his hierarchy before they are made public in the dedicated forum topic. Wait & See ....
It is WhiteFang which offers a first review series 7 minifigs on Eurobricks. No doubt about it, they are still as successful and will certainly always be as difficult to find at retail ... I have long since abandoned the idea of looking for bags in stores. I buy a box that I share with 2 friends, 3 complete sets being provided in each box. Everyone is benefiting.
Anyway, go take a look at the review in question, and if you read English, WhiteFang gives some interesting statistics at the end of his post.
Huw Millington (brick set) was at the park LEGOLAND Windsor (UK) to ensure the promotion of the next opening which will take place officially on March 16, 2012 and brought back some photos among which these magnificent wall frames containing the series of minifigs to collect.
When I saw these photos in the flickr gallery in question, a thought immediately occurred to me: Why are these frames not offered for sale so that we can present our minifigs other than with homemade DIY or in the ugly plastic lockers that we can buy at a gold price now (30 € for a box of 16 minifigs ... that leaves you dreaming)? Admit that it looks good ...
