brickjournal14It is the BrickJournal N ° 14 of April 2011 (Pages 62/63/64/65) which tells us a little more about the future of the series of collectible minifigs to come.
Series 4 has just been released, Series 5 is already announced and the visuals have been around the web, and the interview with Matthew Ashton, Senior Creative Director of LEGO Playthemes and IPs (Intellectual Properties) and Lead Designer for the "Collectible Minifig Series" tells us a little more about the next series.
He states that LEGO is currently working on series 6, 7 and 8 and the character selection has already been made. Series 6 is finalized and Series 7 is being finalized.

The interview also discusses the process of creating these series of minifigures, the reasons for the "mystery" packaging of each minifigure, and TLC's desire to reconnect with the market for characters sold individually to a clientele. 'children fond of these packaging containing a "surprise".

Lego 8805 Minifigure Series 5 b2These two images have leaked around the web, these are the commercial visuals for the 5 series of collectible minifigures, due out in August.
Nothing new on these visuals, except that this series, like the previous ones, offers us ever more attractive characters, pushing to invest in these bags to complete a collection that is already very expensive ...
Personally, I bought the complete sets 1 & 2, and a box of the series 3 (to avoid spending hours trying to guess the contents of the sachets). I would probably continue to buy these minifigs, even if the enthusiasm wears off in the end.
If LEGO continues to release 2 series per year, with the distribution and speculation problems that we already know, buyers may quickly tire of chasing after an elf or a viking at a high price on Bricklink or eBay ... .

There are already summaries of the placement of points on the bag according to their content.

Therefore, minifigcollector.com has uploaded a detailed table that should help you identify your minifigs.
Another lucky buyer of this Series 4 posted his version of this table based on his experience. It will undoubtedly be updated regularly.

lego appI spoke to you recently about the release of this application for iPhone allowing you to briefly play with the collector minifigs of series 2 and 3.
LEGO comes to update it by integrating series 1 and 4 of minifigures.
One more opportunity to admire the minifigs of series 4 while waiting for their real release in your favorite store, which will not be long in coming.

LEGO 8804 Collectable Minifigures Series 4Some information about the availability in our regions of the series 4 of collectible minifigures (8804:
They have just appeared on eBay at a seller located in Hong Kong.
We can afford (Without the bag apparently):

- Pack of 4 minifigures including 1 x Kimono girl1 x soccer player1 x Werewolf and 1 x The Monster.

- Pack of 4 minifigures including 2 x Punk rocker and 2 x Musketeer.

For its part, Peek and Poke announced the availability of boxes of 60 minifigs for early April 2011 via the brand's forum. 
Various forums speak of a release scheduled for April 15, 2011. Unlike previous series, we will probably not see early availability, LEGO has undoubtedly learned the lesson of previous releases to say the least chaotic ....
