After these few interludes on various and varied subjects, return to Star Wars with the latest bust of Omar Ovalle: Darth Maul, here accompanied by some Probe Droids particularly successful.

Concerning Maul, I am more reserved about the shape of the jaw. Even though it accentuates the aggressive side of the character, I find it too prominent. But it's a matter of taste, and tastes and colors cannot be discussed, everyone will appreciate this detail in their own way.

You will find another view of this MOC as well as a bust of Asajj Ventress on Omar's flickr gallery.

Small personal note, I come back from Taiwan and I am in Hong Kong for the weekend, with stifling heat, hellish jet lag, permanent race to go from one appointment to another, etc ... don't mind being a little less responsive than usual.

Moreover, copies of LEGO sets abound here on night markets (Night markets populated by small sellers of all kinds of trinkets, including a lot of counterfeits). I bring back some Ninja Turtles of good quality bought for a handful of Hong Kong dollars and I will offer you some pictures at the beginning of next week for purely educational purposes, if customs do not pose a problem for me ...

10237 The Tower of Orthanc

I know what you are saying to yourself: You are wondering why I am giving you the plank stickers from set 10237 The Tower of Orthanc illustrated on this post.

I chose this image for several reasons: First of all because there are indeed many stickers in this box and I still find it scandalous that LEGO is selling us stickers in boxes at 200 €.

It's easy to guess that many buyers of this set will never stick their stickers, preferring to protect them from light, dust, etc ... And no one comes to talk to me about production costs, LEGO makes enough margin to be able to afford to offer fans a set where each motif would be carefully screen printed. I'm rambling, I know. But it feels good...

For the rest, no revolutionary info: The visuals of this set are known, the minifigs too. We also learn that there are actually very few mobile functions dedicated to gameplay and that the assembly of the tower is not as monotonous as one might think.

You can see many other photos and read what the author of the review thinks on the Imperium der Steine forum at this address (Link integrating the Google translation in French).

Superb captainsmog work with this Nazgûl riding the commonly known flying creature Fell Beast ( Black Wings, The Winged Messenger, Winged Nazgûl, Winged Steeds, Wraiths on Wings, Fell Rider of the Air and Black Rider of the Air... It's up to you) in the different parts of the Middle Earth.

The critter is fully articulated and has a total wingspan of 50 cm. Other views are also available on the flickr gallery captainsmog with several different poses to better understand the level of modularity of the whole. This is arguably the best interpretation to date of this LEGO brick creature.

This MOC is also a Cuusoo project that you can support at this address.
