Here is the gift given this year to all employees at LEGO: The 4000007 Ole Kirk's House set that some of you must have already seen somewhere: It was given in 2009 to those who could afford a "Inside Tour"from the manufacturer.

The brick-walled house in this 910-room set, built in 1932 and located in the center of Billund is also known as "Lion house".

This is the place where the first ABS plastic bricks were produced by Ole Kirk Christiansen, the founder of the LEGO company.

The books section on the LEGO theme is enriched every day with new references, more or less successful, and many publishers are trying to attract the favor of AFOLs fond of anything near or far to their passion. .

No Starch Press, the publisher of The Cult of LEGO and in particular of several books on the Mindstorms NXT range, sent me two of his latest publications among which The LEGO Adventure Book. Obviously, I have the right to say bad things about it, my independence is worth more than that.

And this book is a good surprise: First of all, the layout does not suffer from any defects or qualitative compromises. Visually, it's a cut above what The Cult of LEGO offers us. The photos are superb and it is a pleasure to leaf through this book that could be described as "Beautiful book to put under the tree"and whose primary vocation is ambitious: To allow you to develop your creativity by offering you more than 200 models, 25 of which are presented with their assembly instructions.

The layout is neat with a comic spirit that makes the texts easier to understand as long as you have a sufficient command of English. The author dialogues with the different MOCeurs who reveal some manufacturing secrets or some anecdotes about their creations.

I do not guarantee that you will assemble all the models presented, but you will enjoy discovering them or rediscovering them depending on whether you spend your life on flickr or not.

You will find some of the most famous MOCeurs of the LEGO scene there, such as the French specialist in the Steampunk universe Sylvain Amacher (Captain Smog), Mike Psiaki or Katie Walker who present their most emblematic creations.

The last page of the book also presents the portraits of each of these MOCeurs as well as that of the author of the book, Megan "megs" Rothrock (alias megzter on flickr), who has worked for LEGO in the past. This is the opportunity to put a face on these MOCeurs known to all, but often only virtually.

To be honest with you, I buy a lot of books around the LEGO theme. I enjoy browsing them, consuming them in stages when I have a free moment or when I need to take my mind off things. Some end up quickly on a shelf when others stay on hand for longer like The LEGO Adventure Book which has been on my desk for two good weeks.

This 200-page English-language book, the first volume in an upcoming series, is on sale at amazon at the rate of 19.55 €. If you want my opinion, it is well worth its 20 €, even if I know that for an AFOL, 20 € is spent mostly in parts and minifigs ...

The good joke Made in LEGO of the day, it is the one that a Polish Eurobricks user has just found (Vodnik) who have just purchased a copy of the Star Wars Advent Calendar 75097 set 2015.

On the edge of the box, we discover the words: "Contains an Exclusive Darth Vader figure!". Someone at LEGO will have forgotten to modify one side of the packaging of the Advent calendar 2014... and may generate a lot of disappointment among children who will wait impatiently to open the box containing the minifig announced.

The content of the 2015 version of the Advent calendar has been unveiled a long time ago and obviously there is no Darth Vader minifigure in this set. The character was the star of the 2014 Version of the Star Wars Advent calendar and this year, it's the turn of droids C-3PO and R2-D2 to see themselves decked out in festive outfits.

Hoping that LEGO and Disney will not require in the coming hours the immediate withdrawal of this photo, citing a possible irreparable damage to the image; -) ...
