lego cuusoo

It's certain the team blog who manages the Cuusoo project that the announcement has been made: The result of the review phase which began on June 4, 2012 will be communicated on December 20 in the form of a video message.

This interminable second phase concerning the 4 projects which reached 10.000 supporters in mid-2012 is finally reaching its goal and LEGO will have to take a stand at the risk of putting all the credibility already largely eroded of this initiative at stake.

In the running: The Modular Western Town, a project widely supported by the AFOL community, the Delorean from Back to the Future, The Legend of Zelda and Eve Online Rifter.

My prognosis? Everything goes by the wayside. Zelda and the Delorean for licensing issues, the Rifter because nobody cares and the Modular Western Town because The Lone Ranger.

LEGO will in all cases provide a valid excuse to justify the rejection of these projects, even if it means promising a subsequent realization which will never happen.

On the other hand, rejecting everything would mean that Cuusoo is a vacuum incubator and I don't see LEGO taking that risk. So if I had to save just one, I'd say the Modular Western Town is still the most likely to end up as a 250-piece System set in the LEGO Shop.

It's just an opinion, I'm waiting for yours in the comments.

PS: For those who are interested, the 21102 Minecraft set is back in stock in the LEGO Shop (34.99 €).

LEGO Star Wars 9509 Advent Calendar 2012

An essential interlude to take stock of the contents of the 2012 LEGO Star Wars Advent calendar.

Let's avoid talking about the Gonk Droid and the now traditional weapon rack bringing together lightsabers and blasters of all kinds.

Blasters who cry out their desire to evolve towards something more similar to the weapons seen in the films of the saga. If minifigs evolve into something more detailed, their accessories will need to do the same.

We forget the green thing today too. No one will make me believe this is Panaka's Flash Speeder. Oh yes ?

So we have a Snowtrooper minifigure left and an attempt to portray a Naboo Royal Starship. It's okay, a little dull. The same with a few chrome parts, it was superb.

The Snowtrooper minifigure at least has the merit of being equipped with the new PacMan head available to all troopers.

Lego the lone ranger

The suspense is finally lifted on the content of the LEGO The Lone Ranger range which we did not know much about until now.

Brickset has obtained a scan of the pages of the new 2013 catalog and we finally discover this range which western fans are no doubt expecting trop beaucoup.

At first glance, this all looks very nice, with Battle Pack for setting up your own Union cavalry regiment, a stagecoach whose design I ask to see more closely, a village in the Wild West, a train , horses...

The actual arrival on the shelves is announced for May 2013 in Germany. Until then, we will have access to the official visuals on a white background that will allow us to get a definitive idea of these sets.

I don't expect to be a real fan of the movie: Johnny Depp, again him, in his horny, painted guy roles is starting to tire me a bit. But I remain sensitive to the universe of the western which brings me back to my younger years.

So, a priori, it will be for minifigs, cowboys, Indians and northern soldiers.

The official rates that will be charged in Germany:

79106 Cavalry Builder Set 14.99 €
79107 Comanche Camp 29.99 €
79108 Stagecoach Escape 49.99 €
79109 Colby City Showdown 59.99 €
79110 Silver Mine Shootout 79.99 €
79111 Constitution Train Chase 99.99 €

And for those who are wondering: set 79109 does indeed seem to contain LEGO's interpretation of the Modular Western Town presented on Cuusoo and which is in the "Review"after getting 10.000 supporters.

I'm joking...
