It's because of cupishalfempty who posted new images of the 70700 Space Swarmer set on flickr that we are discovering the entire Galaxy Squad range this morning.
And I must say that I am more and more enthusiastic about this theme which is the first license made-in-lego to please me as much with its squads of brave astronauts identified by different colors who fight against the evil insects.
There is a bit (only a few) of Starship Troopers in this lineup, political irony and gore less.
To see more about the 70700 Space Swarmer set, visit Cupishalfempty's flickr gallery.
And we talk again (to say nothing) about this set "Battle of Hoth"about which we know practically nothing except that it will have a priori the reference 75014 and that it will contain five minifigs.
It could be an exclusive LEGO Shop set, or reserved for a particular brand (Toys R Us, La Grande Récré, etc ...)
No visual is available for the moment. We can always hope for a playset possibly including a AT-AT, a Snowspeeder and a piece of bunker that would complete the catastrophic 7879 Hoth Echo Base released in 2011 or the most successful (for my taste) 7666 Hoth Rebel Base released in 2007.
We find for the moment trace of this reference on this polish site and this russian site which publishes a description whose English translation gives something like this (via Google translation):
"... Go with Luke Skywalker on the ice-covered planet of Hoth in his Snowspeeder! Beware tranches command center with Commander Rikanom Imperial pilots and catch speeders snow attacking Defense Forces rebels. Shoot from the turret guns! Help the rebels defeat the forces of the Galactic Empire in the Battle for the planet Hoth from the movie "Star Wars: Episode V. The Empire Strikes Back"! The set includes five minifigurok with various weapons and accessories: Luke Skywalker in clothing for Snowspeeder, General Rick, a rebel -infantryman from the planet Hoth and 2 pilots snow speeders.
Stop the attack by the forces of the Empire Luke Skywalker and his snow speeder!
Help commander Rikanu and Luke Skywalker on a snow speeder protect Defense Forces rebel infantry from imperial snow!
The set includes five minifigures with various weapons and accessories: Luke Skywalker in clothing for snow speeder, General Rick, a rebel-infantryman from the planet Hoth and 2 pilots Snowspeeders Features: Snowspeeder, speeder cycle blaster E-Web, a probe droid forces of the Empire, turret gun, command center, a trench and Taounate Snowspeeder has an opening cockpit and tow hook with rope Tower gun can shoot
Set includes six weapons: lightsaber, blaster pistol, 2 blaster rifles and two blaster accessories: shovel, pickaxe windsock and repel the forces of the Empire! Open up the shells!
Dimensions Snowspeeder height of more than 6 cm, length 18 cm, width 13 cm
Dimensions trenches: length 20 cm, width 11 cm, height 10 cm ..."
As usual, I would point out that the illustration above is not an image of the set in question, but a screenshot from the Lego Star Wars II video game.
Do not believe everything you are told on various forums: The too short cape contained in Elrond's polybag is indeed a hobbit cape and it is a confirmed error on the part of the manufacturer.
Klikk blog echoed this and I have just contacted customer service who confirms the matter.
LEGO also asks all those who were entitled to this too short cape to contact customer service to obtain the longer cape originally intended for this minifigure.
To your calculators, Pixmania offers sets of sets sold for some at very good prices.
But not everything is the same barrel and you have to really compare to be sure to get a good deal.
Do not hesitate to compare the prices with those charged by amazon (which you will find on pricevortex.com), which almost always aligns itself with its competitors.
You will find packs in the City, Technic, Monster Fighters, Ninjago, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Super Heroes, etc ... ranges. Do not be too fooled by the indicated reduction percentages, they are a bit fancy.
To access the dedicated space at Pixmania, click on the image above or this link.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this new made-in-LEGO range. But these photos proposed by a TRU customer in Canada already make me change my mind.
I'm not very nostalgic for the manufacturer's previous lines featuring nice astronauts, bad aliens and various and varied ships.
But there is something decidedly modern about this new Galaxy Squad line that I really like. the choice of colors is very judicious, one identifies very well the two forces present. The machines seem very elaborate, like the species of dropship with modular wings that we see on the box of the set 70705 Bug Obliterator.
Evil insects with their very "organic" looking spacecraft, nice Space Troopers with their ships high-tech, this is what makes the success of this new range with the youngest and AFOLs fans of Space Classic or Insectoids.
I will gladly let myself be tempted by a few sets as soon as they arrive on our shelves, just to see how my children are hooked on the enormous playability potential of this theme.
