It's a little dead calm at the moment when it comes to the new LEGO Lord of the Rings range and time has to be spent .... infomaniac does it in a beautiful way with this beautiful MOC reproducing to perfection the moving scene from The Return of the King in which Frodo and his friends leave the port of Gray Havens.
The reconstruction is perfect, even in perspective. I put you below a capture of the scene of the film, you can compare everything there ...
Remember to go to the flickr gallery infomaniac, it promises some views of this MOC in behind the scenes very soon ... He should then unveil the staging as a whole and the techniques he used to reproduce the perspective.
We had imagined a lot of possibilities, but I must admit that this brave Darth Maul so silent and so enigmatic in theEpisode I: The Phantom Menace comes back to us with a touch of ... madness. Finished the character all in power and in mystery, here is the new Darth Maul, a little disturbed and tortured who returns in episode 21 (Brothers) of season 4 of the animated series The Clone Wars.
In episode 22 (Season Finale - Revenge) of season 4, Darth Maul finds more academic legs and a certain agility that will be necessary for him to face who you know ... Of course, there is no question here of revealing to you the plot of these two episodes. (the two episodes were broadcast on March 14, 2012 on W9 as Vincent SW points out in the comments).
I just wanted to point out that Darth Maul is back in service after a little slump before coming back in great shape and with beautiful metal legs made of odds and ends. What to hope for a new minifigure for this character definitely at the center of the Star Wars universe this year.
We can consider that the minifig in a bag distributed during the New York Toy Fair 2012 represents this new Darth Maul. But I think LEGO can do better with a better representation of these new legs that deserve a dedicated mold ...
Back to personal creations with these two MOCs offered by two regulars: Tiler and Psiaki.
Tiler presents his interpretation of the Probe Droid. As usual it's clean, creative and neat. To see in detail in its flickr gallery.
Psiaki, polishes his Naboo Starfighter which he had already proposed an intermediate version. A lot of work on the curves with this MOC. A little tour on his flickr gallery will tell you more about his work.
This is the site thegamershub.net who publishes these two unpublished shots of the sets 9497 Republic Striker Starfighter et 9500 Sith Fury-Class Interceptor whose release is scheduled for June 2012.
Not much to see, the resolution is too low. In addition, the machines and minifigs are identical to those presented at the last New York Toy Fair 2012.
LEGO has therefore officially announced this new set from the Ultimate Collector Series range. Nothing new that we didn't already know. The price of 179.99 € is officially confirmed.
