7958 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar

It is with a little delay that I offer you these visuals of the contents of the last 3 boxes of the LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar.

We start with the Tie Defender Pilot below (sw268), nice minifigure in my opinion, already seen in the set 8087 Tie Defender released in 2010 and from the Extended Universe. I finally see it as a nod to the 2012 range which will include sets based on video games. Star Wars The Old Republic... A good surprise that this minifig well screen printed and that not everyone has already 50 times in their collection.

We continue with a Tie Fighter which is more of a joke than anything else. Difficult to do more conceptual than this assembly of a few parts. Some will say that the result is effective: we recognize this vessel immediately. I agree with that, of course. But we shouldn't be taken for fools either. This Advent Calendar is not free, we are entitled to expect a minimum of it and there, with my microscopic Tie Fighter, I have the unpleasant feeling that I am being laughed at .... At worst , LEGO could have put enough to build several, just to get a mini fleet and to give a little density to this box ....

Finally, we end with another mini-micro-ship that borders on correctional with this monochrome Millennium Falcon that could have been about correct if LEGO had split a dish screen printed on the top. I don't mind being told about technical, financial, margin, profitability constraints, etc. But we must not exaggerate either. How can you hope to convince a kid that LEGO is better than Kre-O or Playmobil with this type of assembly?

So, I summarize: I keep my Kinder advent calendar with its good chocolate and I quickly move on. Next year, the Star Wars Advent Calendar will end up in the back of the closet, I probably wouldn't bother to open the boxes and the bags. Except maybe the last box to see this Darth Maul all dressed in red.

Once again, this LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar could have been of real interest if all of the parts provided had ultimately made it possible to build a larger machine. that would have given it meaning, and would have excused the micro things that we must be satisfied with, for lack of anything better ...

The Dark Knight Rises

Onward for the second official trailer for the next and final installment of the trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan with Christian Bale in the title role, surrounded by an impressive cast: Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine , Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy as Bane, the highly anticipated super villain.

If this film is going to be epic and dark, LEGO will have something to do with the many characters and other rolling or flying vehicles: the ultra-modern BatWing or Tumbler with camouflage option would be good news in the next sets of the Super Heroes DC Universe range. ...

In the meantime, latecomers, if there are any, can always get hold of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Limited Edition Blu-ray Pack for less than 16 € ....

LEGO Super Heroes 2012 - Marvel Avengers UltraBuild 4597, 4530 & 4529

We finally discover the visuals of the first sets of the Marvel Avengers 2012 range with these three UltraBuild sets:

4597 Captain America : Quite successful in the end, the Bionicle style suits this character with a very cartoonish face. The shield looks nice, and I can't help it anyway, I love the Cape shield ....

4529 Iron Man : This one is missed: The armor side is completely squeezed out by the rickety aspect of the figurine. The shoulder pads make it look more like a Power ranger than in Iron Man.

4530 Hulk : Difficult to represent this mastodon with poorly adapted pieces. The breastplate gives a certain volume effect but which is not sufficient to make the figurine credible. I really like big oversized hands though ...

Note that these figurines will be marketed in May 2012 at around € 14.50

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Unless you live in a cave deep in Eastern Siberia, you probably know that one of the movie events of the coming year is the next Peter Jackson film: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey whose official release is scheduled for December 14, 2012.

Here is the trailer for this two-part adaptation of Tolkien's work, the second part of which is scheduled for late 2013.

If you still haven't seen the trilogy Lord of the Rings, give yourself the pack Blu-ray Limited Edition with all long versions in 15 discs (!) for Christmas, you will not regret it ....

9499 Gungan Sub = 9499 Queen Amidala

TheLegoAdrian has a good memory and he is right.

If you remember the Queen Amidala prototype shown at San Diego Comic Con in July 2011 (see this article), so maybe you noticed that this minifigure was announced as present in the reference set 9499...

We now know this set since it is the Gungan Sub in which is precisely planned a minifig of Amidala announced as unpublished.

The visual presented is a provisional illustration and we should therefore be entitled to Queen Amidala in ceremonial dress in this set, which suddenly becomes much more interesting to me ... and probably to yours.
