This is a set that fans of the LEGO Architecture range are probably looking forward to: The Arc de Triomphe (21036) arrives in a LEGO version from August 1st to keep company with the Eiffel Tower (21019) and Louvre (21024).
I voluntarily leave aside the Villa Savoye (21014), even if it is a reproduction of a French building, which has not had the honor of entering my collection. I generally ignore the products of the Architecture range except for the most symbolic French monuments.
The set is still not listed on the LEGO Shop but it is already in pre-order at Amazon with some nice visuals and a short description that allows us to learn that the tomb of the unknown soldier will be represented by a golden element.
For the rest, the set is displayed at the price of 49.14 € at amazon. The official public price is not known, so far we were talking about 34.99 €, probably for Germany.

Make way for creativity with change in the rules LEGO Ideas: Projects based on licenses that are already being operated by LEGO will no longer be accepted on the LEGO Ideas platform.
It's good news. No more claims of all kinds, 40.000-piece LEGO Star Wars UCS projects, projects aimed at "encouraging" the creation of a range around one or more existing sets by putting pressure on LEGO via the popular craze , etc ...
Note that this new restriction will not prevent LEGO from rejecting a particular project if there is a conflict of interest with a third party holder of the license concerned.
If a license were to no longer be used by LEGO through its usual ranges, it will be removed from the reference list below and it will then be possible to resubmit projects based on it.
Below, the long list of licenses considered by LEGO as "active" and therefore affected by this update of the regulation:
Active Licenses: Entertainment Star Wars, MARVEL Super Heroes, DC Super Heroes & Super Hero Girls, The LEGO Batman Movie, The LEGO NINJAGO Movie, The LEGO Movie, Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy & Tinker Bell), Moana , Rapunzel, Aladdin, Cars, Whisker Haven Tales with the Palace Pets, Angry Birds, Pirates of the Caribbean, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Miles From Tomorrowland, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, The Simpsons, Knight Rider, Mission Impossible, Midway Arcade, Lord of the Rings, Gremlins, A-Team, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Sonic the Hedgehog, Portal 2, ET & The Wizard of Oz. Automotive brands: Architecture: |
Projects based on a license used for a set of the LEGO Ideas range, even if it is no longer marketed, will be systematically rejected:
Restricted IP from LEGO Ideas: Shinkai 6500, Hayabusa, Minecraft, Back to the Future, Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover, Ghostbusters The Big Bang Theory, WALL • E, Doctor Who, The Beatles, caterham, Adventure Time, Apollo program, Women of NASA concept |
The projects affected by these restrictions which have already entered the review phase and those which are in the race for 10.000 supporters will not be purged. LEGO specifies, however, that they will have little chance of being selected and marketed.
The new LEGO version of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (21035), with its 744 pieces and two New York taxis is finally available at the public price of 69.99 € on the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores.
If you are a fan of the Architecture range and you can survive a few days without this box, wait until April 4 to buy this set, you can take the opportunity to be offered as a gift. The LEGO Creator 40252 Mini VW Beetle set.
Still no date for the other highly anticipated new addition to the LEGO Architecture range, the 21036 Arc de Triomphe set.
Notice to all those who bought the set LEGO Architecture London 21034 from the Serie "Skylines": A blog reader, FreemanCG, tells me about a problem encountered with this set and it would be interesting to know if others among you are more or less affected by this problem which could then possibly relate more to the design defect than the isolated incident.
As you can see in the photos below taken by the owner of the set, it would appear that over time the pressure from both pants (6178243) in Medium Blue very rigid which are connected to the two towers of the Tower Bridge causes rapid deterioration of the 1x3 arches (4618651) at the bottom of these towers.
We also notice that the two towers tend to be slightly raised under the pressure of the two blue tubes, ultimately not that flexible, and I find this phenomenon in several reviews published online including that of Brickset:
If you bought this set a few weeks ago and see the same problem, please let us know in the comments.
In any case, you will need to contact LEGO customer service to get damaged parts replaced.
Hardly visible in the various photos offered so far by those who were present at the LEGO stand at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, the set 21036 Arc de Triomphe of the Architecture range is revealed a little more with this new visual.
At first glance, this reproduction of the Parisian monument has everything to please, but I await the informed opinion of the regulars of this range.
Its public price should be around 34.99 €. it will probably join the collection of many fans of this range alongside the other three sets based on French monuments / buildings: 21014 Villa Savoye (2012), 21019 Eiffel Tower (2014) et 21024 The Louvre (2015)
