LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles

I have just received confirmation from Amazon that my order for the book has been shipped The Yoda Chronicles, which is therefore finally available.

I don't expect anything fancy when it comes to the editorial content, but for less than $ 15, a little reading, some nice illustrations and an exclusive minifig from the animated mini-saga is fine with me .

I remind you that this book (in English) contains on 64 pages a lot of information relating to the Star Wars saga presented from Yoda's point of view. You can also discover a few pages as an example in this article.

The exclusive minifigure is a "Special Forces Commander"which we don't know much about at the moment, but as a good collector that I am, I absolutely need it. If you collect the LEGO Star Wars products, you understand what I mean ...

The book is on sale at Amazon for less than 15 €, the delivery is free, and it is therefore available contrary to what its file indicates. To add it to your library, click here.

10155 Maersk Line Container Ship

Two new products have already been announced for 2014 with a set of LEGO Creator Expert 10243 (formerly Modular) on the menu, the name of which reveals the contents of the box, the "Parisian-Restaurant", and a new cargo ship from the Danish company Maersk with which LEGO has had a partnership for many years.

The first sets resulting from the partnership between the two companies date back to 1974 with the first container ship (1650), followed in 1980 by the first truck also dressed in the Maersk colors. Other sets were subsequently marketed including the train set 10219 (2011) and the cargo boat set 10155 (2010) which is itself a reissue of set 10152 released in 2004.

These sets have become very popular with MOCeurs mainly because of the presence of an exclusive color used only for sets in the range, The "Maersk Blue", with however some slight variations in color due to the two production waves, the first dating from 1974 to 2006, the second from 2006 to the present day.

The news of the company Maersk could be at the origin of the contents of the box: The first cargo boat of the new fleet Triple-E just launched in South Korea in June 2013 and LEGO could immortalize the event with this set. Maersk has ordered twenty of these boats, the largest container ships in the world, slower but more economical and environmentally friendly than their predecessors.

As for the "Parisian" restaurant, I'm waiting to see what LEGO will offer us. Undoubtedly a building with a terrace, awnings on the windows and glazed frontage, to stick to the typical design of the restaurants of the capital. But the term "Parisian" is so overused that it is better to be careful ...

The LEGO Creator Expert Parisian Restaurant set (LEGO reference 10243) is expected to retail for around € 149 and the Maersk cargo ship (LEGO reference 10241) is expected to retail for around € 129.

This information is distilled in a dropper on the various forums of AFOLs, inevitably with the complicity of LEGO, and I will not fail to post you here the future details which will be revealed gradually to fuel the buzz ...

legoland denied access

It's the funny story of the day, and better to laugh about it than start arguing about it: John St-Onge, 63-year-old Canadian retiree and LEGO fan wanted to go to LEGOLAND.

But the AFOL in question is very ill and therefore limits the risks to his health by going to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Toronto (CA) instead of attempting the expedition to Billund.

So far all is well, the gentleman arrives at the entrance of the park accompanied by his (older) daughter. And there is the drama: Impossible for the fan of LEGO to access the park, it is imperative to be accompanied by a child.

It is also written in full on the park's website: "... Adults must be accompanied by a child to visit the LEGOLAND Discovery Center ... "See at this address). The management of the park does not let go and AFOL turns around. End of the story. Or not...

The grandpa fan of small bricks tells all the media about the insult he suffered, talks about his immense disappointment, and the anecdote spreads dazzlingly on social networks and news or geek sites with many details on the state of health of the gentleman, his shattered dream, the absurd nature of this rule, etc ... and where those who find this rule of admission scandalous and those who hide behind the protection are gnawing at each other of children: A single adult in a children's amusement park may be a sexual predator, you never know.

On the LEGO side, let's calm things down, the man will be able to attend one of these evenings specially organized in the park for adult LEGO fans. And we maintain that this rule cannot be broken regardless of the (good) reasons. A single incident would be enough to ruin the reputation of the park and the image of the brand would inevitably suffer. Visitors would no longer be confident, and the snowball effect fueled by the same media that now cry injustice would end up transforming LEGO parks into haunts for pedophiles.

As far as I'm concerned, I agree with the firm position of the park management. And even if the sick grandpa is a priori a good true LEGO fan, the conditions of access to the park are clear and accessible and they must be respected, for the good of all and the safety of our children.

Just a note, let's avoid gutting ourselves in the comments ;-).
