The wave of The LEGO Movie is coming slowly but surely and this first real LEGO movie will obviously benefit from unprecedented media and marketing support: star actors for the voices, duo of experienced directors, video games, ranges of derivative products of all kinds. ..
The first books are starting (already) to point the tip of their nose at Amazon, and among the many books announced (I'll pass you the sticker albums ...) there is one that will a priori be accompanied by a minifigure (Exclusive or not) at the publisher Scholastic, specializing in books for the youngest. This "Activity book"of 32 pages is sold for less than € 7 with a release date set for January 2014.
DK is not left out and already announces a "Essential Guide"64 pages sold for less than € 12. No indication of the possible presence of a minifigure with the book, but anything is possible ... Also released in January 2014.
No visuals of these works for the moment.
For its part, LEGO has put online the official website dedicated to the film and the sets of the range at this address, with a video which for the moment does not launch ...
You probably remember the exclusive minifigure printed in 500 copies distributed at New York Comic Con 2012: Leonardo in black version accompanied by his skateboard (See here).
As is the case with those low-circulation minifigs given out at special events, this version is selling on eBay (Click here to see current offers) for several hundred euros.
Here is therefore double good news: Germans, Austrians and Swiss can try their luck on the German version of the Nickelodeon channel's site with a little game (Click here) very simple allowing to win one of the 100 minifigs put into play.
In addition, this hundred minifigs should come to replenish eBay shelves and undoubtedly lower (slightly, let's not get carried away ...) the price asked by sellers for this version that many collectors would gladly add to their TMNT inventory. ...
The only downside is that the game is reserved for Germans, Austrians and Swiss. Nothing equivalent on French version from the site of the chain, at least for now.
LEGO ends its Comic Con with a strange announcement to say the least: A new theme, a priori intended for the youngest, and obviously based on a program that will be broadcast on the Cartoon Network channel in 2014: Mixels.
Three characters are presented: Volectro from the Electroids family (41508), Flain who comes from the Infernites (41500) and Seismo, member of the Cragsters (41504).
Did you not understand what you just read? It does not matter, by rereading it, I notice that I either ...
In the meantime, the teaser of this range is online on the lego site :
FBTB has uploaded a photo gallery of the 79013 The Lake Town Chase set officially presented at Comic Con.
If we have already been able to take a closer look at this set, here are some close-ups on the minifigs of Thorin, Bard, du Master of Lake Town, the guard and Bilbo with their alternate faces.
The other photos published by FBTB can be found at this address.
The title is misleading, but here's a piece of info that should please fans of the LEGO The Hobbit line, and disappoint anyone who has hitherto tried to put together all of the minifigs in the line:
A LEGO designer, in this case Mark Stafford, confirms that the minifig of Azog will be present in an upcoming set, but in a different color from the one distributed to a hundred copies at Comic Con.
He is a forumer by Eurobricks, SandMirror38, who posted an email received from the designer in question after asking him about Azog's upcoming presence in a set:
"... Hi, to answer your question I will say Yes, the Azog minifigure seen as an 'exclusive' at SDCC will come to a set in The Hobbit, although he will be slightly different..as he is called 'The Pale Orc 'him in white would look nicer wouldn't it? ..."
We can therefore deduce that the next version of Azog will be based on the same mold but that it will be white unlike the exclusive minifigure which is Tan.
This is good news, even if it seemed obvious that this important character of the saga, played on the screen by Manu Bennett alias Crixus (Spartacus) or Slade Wilson (Arrow), would sooner or later join the LEGO The inventory. Hobbit.
This info should not have a major impact on the price at which the exclusive minifig is traded on eBay (Click here to see current offers and auctions) although its exclusivity will obviously motivate compulsive collectors while the most reasonable fans will wisely wait for the release of the white version.
