06/12/2012 - 20:50 MOCs

Those who follow Hoth Bricks know my passion for the Midi-Scale which I talk to you regularly here on the occasion of the presentation of an MOC in this format which is perfectly suited to LEGO models.

If the manufacturer seems to have definitely abandoned the idea of offering us a few ships from the Star Wars universe on this scale following the mixed success of the two excellent sets released in 2009 (7778 Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon - 50 € on Bricklink) and 2010 (8099 Midi-Scale Imperial Star Destroyer - 20 € on Bricklink), Brickdoctor persists and signs by reproducing daily under LDD (LEGO Digital Designer) the content of the Advent calendar but with a little more ambition.

The result is really convincing, as you can see with these three achievements already presented by this MOCeur capable of renewing itself every day and of offering high quality creations.

Brickdoctor also provides .lxf files which will be useful to all those who wish to be able to reproduce these MOCs. You can download them via the links below:

- Midi-Scale MTT
- Midi-Scale Star Destroyer
- Midi-Scale Gungan Sub

In 2011, Brickdoctor had already reproduced the Star Wars Advent Calendar with some superb MOCs whose .lxf files were also available (See these articles).

I will do a regular update on Brickdoctor's creations related to the content of the Star Wars Advent calendar, but you can also follow directly the dedicated topic at Eurobricks.

06/12/2012 - 19:45 LEGO LOTR & The Hobbit Lego news

It's certain the facebook page dedicated to the film that some of the cast of The Hobbit trilogy were presented in the company of their respective minifigs.

And everyone seems rather satisfied with the plastic version of his character, even if we can have some doubts about Ori whose minfig is far from being similar.

I added the visuals of the minifigs in a more readable format on each photo.

A bit odd question, I'll grant you that.

And yet, this is the content of the set LEGO Ninjago 9444 Cole's Tread Assault released in 2012 which served as a starting point for Bomberman to design his Tumbler and Batpod.

Anxious to limit the final cost price of his Tumbler, Bomberman therefore invested in two boxes of set 9444 containing Cole's buggy, which allowed him to have a large batch of useful parts available with in particular 8 wheels including 6 are essential to the design of a Tumbler that respects itself.

The end result is astonishing: This 356 piece Tumbler really has a "pretty face" and remains extremely consistent with the proportions of the reference model used, which is not always the case among the many Tumbler MOCs offered so far. .

And since he had a few pieces left, Bomberman took the opportunity to complete Batman's road paraphernalia with the Batpod below.

To see more about these two realizations that deserve your full attention, visit the dedicated topic of the Brickpirate forum where you can enjoy other photos from different angles and you can compare Bomberman's work with the reference images of the Tumbler and the Batpod. You will see, it's bluffing ...

06/12/2012 - 14:04 Rumors

This is from the forum of swebrick.se What does the info come to us? One of the members of this Swedish AFOL community claims to have had access to the retailer catalog for the second half of 2013 and provides some information on upcoming novelties in the LEGO Star Wars range.

As usual, this information is not verified and care should be taken.

The following would therefore be planned:

Une nouvelle Jabba's Sail Barge accompanied by 5 or six minifigs, the design of which would not a priori be better than that of the barge of the 6210 set released in 2006.

Un AT-TE relatively similar to the one we already know with the 7675 set released in 2008, accompanied by 5 or 6 minifigs

Un Republic Gunship also very close to the versions we already know with sets 7163 (released in 2002) and 7676 (released in 2008). It would be accompanied by 5 or 6 minifigs.
