10225 UCS R2-D2 Light Kit @ Artifex Creation

I told you about it briefly in the post on his video review of the UCS 10225 R2-D2 set, Artifex offers its LED kit to give your favorite droid a little life and I tell myself that LEGO should have included this office lighting in this set.

For $ 14.98 you can add 8 LEDs, 4 on the front and 4 on the back, and make your R2-D2 more than a lifeless, lifeless pile of bricks. As usual with Artifex kits, you will need to get some additional parts that will replace the existing parts in some places in order to facilitate the passage of the cables and the positioning of the LEDs.

You can buy this kit directly from his online store or his eBay store.

Small clarification: I do not gain anything by promoting this kit, I just find the idea excellent and LEGO should really be inspired by what Artifex offers in order to add a little fun in certain sets intended for collectors ...

9471 Uruk-Hai Army (Photo by Huw Millington)

It's the big review fair right now with the first availability of LEGO Lord of the Rings sets in the USA. As usual, there are some good and some not so good to see or to read but we can already benefit from the conclusions of each one and get an idea about these sets and their minifigs.

At brick set, Huw millington gives some impressions of the set 9471 Uruk-Hai Army : The mini-wall can be integrated into that of the set 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep, making this set a de facto extension allowing to give a little volume to the 9474, but which will therefore force you to accumulate Eomer's minifigs. The new horse, which keeps conservative fans of the old model nostalgic, can stand on its hind legs but the saddle prevents the minifigure riding it from leaning forward for a more realistic stance as the beast rears. The siege machine is imposing, but it fires slightly light medieval flick-fire-missiles which are unlikely to destroy the walls of the fortress. The pieces representing the wooden planks are screen printed.

The Brothers Brick also offers a review of this set, I stopped reading after the second paragraph describing the box (!), and the photos are similar to those of Brickset, since it is the same set.

At Eurobricks, LEGO otaku offers a review of the set 9470 Shelob Attacks. No stickers in this set, the spider's eyes are screen printed. The additional pieces in this set include two additional unique rings (!), Which will delight anyone with an unfortunate tendency to scatter their pieces everywhere, Gollum can be ejected via a mini-mechanism to allow him to pounce on his precious , and this set is a good source of parts in Dark Tan and Reddish Brown.

Always at Eurobricks, Captain BeerBeard offers a review of the set 9469 Gandalf Arrives with some images of the horse dressed in bards from the classic ranges. I was talking to you compatibility issues relating to new horses a few weeks ago, if that interests you.

Chrome Gold C-3PO (Photoshop) by Praiter Yed & 6005192 TC-14 Exclusive Minifig

Well no, it is not.
This image consists of the real version (on the right) of the TC-14 offered on May 4 and 5 on the LEGO Shop and a Chrome Gold version of the same minifig (on the left) which is none other than the fruit Photoshop work by Pray Yed...

But this style exercise shows that a C-3PO in Chrome Gold version would be welcome in our collections. With this new design, the minifigure printed in 10.000 copies and randomly inserted into some LEGO Star Wars sets in 2007 would be getting a bit old ...

If LEGO doesn't want to bring us this minifigure one day, a chrome R2-D2 would suit me just as well ...

Lego lord of the rings

From all those who currently offer video reviews of the LEGO Lord of the Rings range, DoctorBrikDady is without a doubt the one that does the job best.

The images are crisp, the sets well presented and all the features related to the gameplay are put in situation.

It presents two new sets: 9471 Uruk-Hai Army et 9473 The Mines of Moria whose videos you will find below.
