Rancor by Daiman Mardon

If you follow Hoth Bricks, you know that I rarely resist MOCs replicating the Rancor. The beast is still awaiting its incarnation in the official version and many MOCeurs regularly go to their heart's content to fill this gap.

It's Daiman Mardon's turn to come up with his version, with a lot of imagination and great finds, especially with the textures of the arms made from the 4x4 wedges in Reddish Brown of the dragon in the set. ninjago 2509... MOCeur explains that the legs are designed exclusively with bricks due to the weight they must support and that this model is primarily intended for exhibition, rather than for play. Special mention for the face which is particularly expressive and leaves no doubt as to the aggressiveness of the beast.

To see more while waiting for LEGO to offer us something, it's on the flickr gallery of Daiman Mardon that it happens.

LEGO Super Heroes - 30160 Batman Jetski

As I am still waiting to receive my copies ordered in the USA of this bag that we are not about to see in our regions, I take advantage of the magnificent photos offered by stick_kim on his flickr gallery to briefly talk about Batman's new mask again.

Some already see in this new accessory the thinly veiled announcement of a version based on the third installment of The Dark Knight saga which is due out this summer. However, the exclusive minifigure obviously inspired by the films of the Nolan saga and distributed during the San Diego Comic Con in 2011 was equipped with the mask model that we have all known for many years.

So simple update of an accessory which was singularly lacking in finesse and which deserves to be reviewed and redesigned or marketing of a new version which foreshadows the arrival of Batman-Bale in the form of a set this summer?

We will find out in the next few months .... In the meantime, here are some pictures of stick_kim which will allow you to better compare the two versions. The rest is to be discovered in the flickr gallery of the gentleman.

Custom Loki Unleashed by Geoshift

We cannot say that Loki's minifigure in the sets 6867 Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape et 6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle is particularly detailed: His outfit, however faithful to that of the film, looks more like a three-piece suit than anything else and his helmet lacks a little relief and shine.

Geoshift solved the problem by modifying the minifig in an excellent way. The legs used here are from the Castle range, and the rest has been painted in a very nice way. The result is truly stunning: The minifigure has a darker look. the scepter was also modified then painted to give it a more tribal touch with the skull and chain.

Nice work of artistic creation on this custom, you can congratulate Geoshift directly on his flickr gallery and take the opportunity to discover his many other achievements.

6974 The Orc Forge Uruk-Hai

Leaks continue from the Mexican production plant with this Uruk-Hai apparently from the set 9674 The Orc Forge that a Eurobricks forumer bought at auction on eBay. You can also afford one at this address, the sale is still in progress ....

It would also appear that these brave LEGO employees are lining their pockets with various and varied parts, then trying to piece together the original minifigs with varying degrees of success. This gives us magnificent customs based on official coins which are then sold at a high price on eBay, no doubt to add a little meat to the evening fajita ...

The same seller, located in San Antonio, TX and arguably in the Mexican brick cartel loop, was offering a custom Legolas of the set 9473 The Mines of Moria, with legs that are not those that will be delivered in the official range and a priori the head of Gimli ...

Iron Man Gantry Machine by choisanghun

Nice achievement by a member of the South Korean LEGO community with this representation freely inspired by the robot who assists Iron Man in his armor donning in the second installment of the eponymous saga.

This MOC has the merit of being original, of respecting the colors of the camera seen in the film and of bringing a little renewal in a field where the reviews of sets are jostling but where the MOCs are rare. We will probably have to wait for the film's release on April 25, 2012 at home (a week later for Americans) to see some creations inspired by the long-awaited blockbuster appear.

To see more about this MOC, go to stick_kim's flickr gallery who apparently took the photos on behalf of MOCeur.
