facebook lego launch

The cool thing about LEGO is that the company only needs to move a finger for the butterfly effect to work at full speed and for this innocuous movement to turn into an international event. A bit like with Apple or any company that benefits from a community of unconditional fans ready to quickly spread the holy word.

The buzz of the day, which in my opinion should have remained at the information stage of no great interest, is - hold on tight, it's mind-blowing - the addition by LEGO of two dozen "stickers" Facebook in the form of minifigs to use in your conversations via the discussion tool integrated into the social network.

I took, out of simple curiosity, the time to observe the spread of the information: First of all on facebook obviously with a horde of fans expressing their immense satisfaction with great reinforcements of various and varied onomatopoeias, then on Twitter where all community managers of the brand more or less disguised as twitter lambdas took turns to disseminate the information, then finally on many blogs which had the most serious of the world laid their report of this event.

Well, I know that when you love, you are interested in everything that has a direct or distant connection with the brand or the product that you like. But you have to know how to stay reasonable even if I myself am generally a good audience when it comes to LEGO and I am currently participating in my own way in the amplification of this global launch of some Facebook icons ...

Especially since there are many other things to discover these days that should make you want to give LEGO this holiday season, between the LEGO car that runs on air, CERN, which is taking advantage of the brand's popularity to launch his virtual treasure hunt,  the latest incredible MOC of 200.000 pieces proposed Alice Finch who at the same time became the new communication manager at Bricklinkthis image Legends of Chima minifigs planned for 2014 uploaded by Brickset on his flickr gallery ou Mirror article (The online version of the Daily Mirror) on LEGO The Simspons minifigs for sale on eBay (See also on Springfield Bricks) ...

On the TV side, two reports, the first in the TF13 news at 00:1 p.m., the second in the 12/13 of France 3 Alsace (from 10:50).

You will understand, these few lines crossed with a little bad faith are above all a way to summarize for you what is happening at the moment on the LEGO planet.

I'm off to see the Sorcerer's Apprentice with Nicolas Cage, that will change my mind.

16/12/2013 - 22:47 Lego news Lego stores

LEGO Store @Disney Village

The soap opera has never ended since the construction accident which saw the false ceiling of the future LEGO Store in Disney Village collapse last September.

Several times postponed, the opening is now scheduled for the end of December (the 30th normally).

As stated on the forum Disney central plaza, Store employees will begin training on December 20 and then set up the store as of December 23.

The photo of the progress of the work above was published on facebook on December 3 by InsideDLParis

I'll be at Disneyland right after Christmas, but a priori too early to be able to go for a walk in this LEGO Store that we are promised as the largest in Europe.

If you have any other information to share on the topic, feel free to comment.

12/12/2013 - 18:40 Lego news

Lego cuusoo

The party is over: No more projects imploring LEGO for Battle Packs of 200 Clone Troopers or for Super Heroes in sachets, no mascots or logos like LEGO (Android, Apple, Purdue Pete), more custom products, competing products or non-existing parts, no more projects protesting for the return of a theme or for the creation of a range, no more projects using a license already held by a competing manufacturer, in short than real LEGO.

The team in charge of the Cuusoo concept seems to have learned the lessons from the two years of existence of the platform and has just clarified the situation by declining a list of rules which must be followed to the letter under penalty of seeing the project outright refused or deleted.

Back to basics, then, and that's good. If there should be anything left of the Cuusoo fiasco, it is indeed a space in which the most inspired MOCeurs can offer real creations. In return, we will probably no longer see many projects capable of reaching 10.000 supporters in a few hours / days thanks to the mobilization of fans who have no particular affinity with LEGOs and who just want to support everything en masse. which directly or indirectly affects their centers of interest.

The big cleaning is underway, many projects that do not respect the new rules will be deleted and the MOCeurs in need of visibility who squatted Cuusoo with more or less successful creations will have to go (be) seen elsewhere. The pretext projects for demonstrations of force and other hostage-taking by various communities anxious to assert their supremacy in the small world of LEGO should also no longer take place.

It will take time, but these changes should gradually bring back all those who fled the platform to discover that it was out of control and diverted from its original purpose. The manufacturer wants to return Cuusoo to LEGO fans. It's a good idea, even if it's a bit late.
