Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Ideas set 21339 BTS Dynamite, a box of 749 pieces which will be available from March 1, 2023 at the retail price of €99.99.

This product is inspired by an idea with a very simplistic realization initially registered on the LEGO Ideas platform, acclaimed by 10.000 fans and then definitively validated by LEGO. Either you know what it's all about and you'll be in the starting blocks as soon as the set goes on sale, or you don't know it and you can go back to your usual business, telling yourself that you'll save a hundred euros .

To put it simply, it is a derivative product to the glory of a group of seven young singers created in 2013, BTS or bangtan sonyeondan, the world famous representative of a musical current from South Korea: K-pop. More precisely, this box proposes to assemble the decoration of the clip of the title "Dynamite" which cumulates to date more than 1.6 billion views on Youtube and which flooded the FM frequencies for long months. You must have already heard this title at least once, even without knowing who is singing.

We could discuss the relevance of the proposed construction, but we must recognize that the designers have done their homework: we find in fact a simplified version of the decor of the clip itself, which is already relatively refined. So difficult to criticize the poverty of the whole even if the finish seems a bit sloppy, it is relatively faithful.

This box obviously offers only a limited challenge in terms of building experience, but I think the essentials are not there for the intended audience. This set is primarily aimed at fans of the group who want to treat themselves to an original derivative product that changes a little from t-shirts and other mugs. BTS is also a great machine for merchandise of all kinds and fans generally do not deprive themselves, within the limits of their budget.

LEGO allows itself a few refinements all the same with a stage with mobile plots which allows the seven members of the group to move with perfect synchronization, a small ice cream truck which does not equal the best versions of the CITY range which, however, is all the same very correct, a shop filled with vinyls, two palm trees and a big donut which is not of the best barrel but which will do the trick.

The set is not stingy with stickers but it's probably for a good cause: some of these stickers will end up on the pieces of the set or on the cover of a textbook, it's also the only really "collector" element of the product apart from the minifigs. Some fans already saw themselves getting photocards inserted in the box but it will not be, LEGO has not pushed the concept to the imitation of the techniques used by the marketers in charge of the promotion of the group.

The seven members of the group are logically entitled to their minifig, more or less identifiable if you do not know by heart the outfits and hairstyles of each of the young singers, but the most assiduous fans will immediately recognize RM,Jin, SUGA, j hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook and this is once again the main thing. These miniatures are all affected by the usual defect with white areas which are not really white, contrary to what the official visuals, which have been extensively retouched, suggested.

There should be no mistaking LEGO's intentions with this product, the manufacturer is not exclusively aimed at its most loyal customers, it is also a question of regularly targeting more and more people and of attracting all possible audiences outside of the usual LEGOsphere already stuffed with sets throughout the year. It's an indisputable fact, the BTS group is a global phenomenon followed by a whole generation of young fans, and LEGO shows here its ability to take into account (and take advantage of) current trends.

I am not the target of this product but in my opinion it is at least as legitimate as others inspired by series or references that are much more confidential, at least with current generations. Fans of the group will undoubtedly find their account there, LEGO did not make fun of them by offering content in the inventory sufficiently limited so that the public price of the thing remains acceptable to fans accustomed to spending large sums in concert tickets, collector's albums or autographed photos.

It is also in my opinion not a bad LEGO product that would miss its subject, it is quite simply a product derived from the very decent BTS brand with a little LEGO in it. The association of the two brands will do the rest and sales should follow.

Those who were waiting for the return of The Lord of the Rings universe to LEGO hoping this time to get something to stage real epic battles based on dwarves and orcs are at their expense, the manufacturer has chosen something less warlike and probably a little more elegant to make a new escapade in Middle-earth.

Almost everything has already been said about this box and more than the way the subject is treated, it is the price positioning and the size of the construction that will influence the level of motivation of each other to buy this product. luxury derivative. Those who no longer want to settle for the very simplistic set 79006 Council of Elrond marketed in 2014 will in any case find something here to replace the mini-model on their shelves.

Indeed, we cannot say that LEGO misses the point, Rivendell is reproduced here with great care and the level of detail is impressive. If you intend to acquire this box, do not spoil too much the different stages of the assembly of the product, all the pleasure is there.

The model is divided into a few independent sections which will be grouped together at the end of the construction process for the exhibition. I won't give you the details of the different subsets, the photos speak for themselves. The relative modularity of the product will also make it possible to expose only the council room on the corner of an office if there is not enough space to install the construction as a whole.

Three separate instruction booklets are provided and each of them relates to a specific part of the model. It is therefore possible to get together to share the pleasure of assembling the product broken down into about fifty sachets. This set for adults does not reserve really very technical sequences but it will be necessary to remain vigilant throughout the assembly phase so as not to end up with many small parts which seem at first sight unused but which we will have forgotten over time. pages. The 6167 parts are there, but you have probably already understood that there are very few large elements.

The rear of the construction is not sloppy and benefits from a very correct finish with the added bonus of the possibility of accessing some of the interior spaces more easily than by passing through the front of the building. The floors are not always covered with Tiles but the alternation between smooth surfaces and exposed tenons remains acceptable knowing that the roof of the main structure and the tree which overhangs the council room in any case conceal a very large part of the interior of the construction.

The construction process becomes a bit laborious at times, sometimes it feels like LEGO is rushing to destock its Tiles DOTS since the announcement of the definitive discontinuation of the range with nearly 400 units used in particular for the colored texture of roofs. Fans of part diversion will appreciate the presence of a few sausages, buoys and other ice cream or cupcake molds here used to bring a little finesse and elegance to the construction. Those who rarely buy LEGO sets apart from a few products for adults will probably miss these diversions, the use of these parts will simply seem to them suited to the desired aesthetic.

Do not panic if you have the impression that it is almost impossible to correctly align the Tiles on the roof sections, the technique for positioning the hundreds of parts concerned is detailed explicitly in the instruction booklets: all you have to do is place them roughly aligned before perfecting the thing with the help of a Plate which must then be carefully slid between the rows to obtain the desired effect.

Come to think of it, we also spend a lot of time correctly positioning small decorative elements that must be oriented very precisely to obtain the desired visual effect. This need for permanent care during the assembly phase can be a little annoying, it is not uncommon to move an arch or a sausage by manipulating or moving the assembly.

One could reproach a lack of ambition concerning the vegetation present around the construction, the trees are a little emaciated and their number is limited. We will have to deal with it, LEGO is obviously stingy with various and varied sheets, judging by the similar solution already used in the LEGO Ideas set 21338 A-Frame Cabin. Rivendell undoubtedly deserved more foliage and bushes, but we will console ourselves with the 34 new ferns delivered in this box.

Too bad also for the legs of the statues present on the tower, they are a little sad and these figurines deserved in my opinion some graphic elements on their lower part, especially for those wearing the usual "dress".

The set does not escape a handful of stickers which are graphically very successful, even if that does not excuse their presence in a box sold for €500. Everything that is not on the sticker sheets that I scanned for you is therefore pad-printed, in particular the magnificent tiling that covers the floor of the main building and the center of the council chamber.

The references to the Lord of the Rings universe and the films of Peter Jackson are numerous and those who are enough fans to know the films by heart will certainly find their account. The designers worked on their subject and integrated everything that could be added to satisfy the most demanding, eye of Sauron hidden under the council chamber, tunnel hidden by foliage for Sam, mithril chain mail for Frodo in the form of a sticker, broken sword of Elendil and complete set of weapons with the design consistent with those seen on the screen included.

The endowment in minifigs is very correct with fifteen figurines with overall successful pad printing including barefoot hobbits who benefit from injected legs in two colors: Gandalf the Grey, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Merriadoc “Merry” brandybuck, Peregrine“Pippin” Tooke, Legolas, Gimli, Gloin, Boromir, Aragorn, Elrond, Peredhel, Bilbo Baggins, Arwen and some generic elves. We also note that LEGO provides additional hair for Gimli and Gandalf, the two characters can therefore be displayed with their respective headgear or without.

Those who already own some of the minifigs from the defunct range marketed by LEGO in 2012 will find welcome variants here, others will have the entire Fellowship of the Ring at their fingertips without having to go through the secondary market and pay some gold-priced figurines. As you pass, you get six additional figurines embodying the statues placed at the foot of the tower and the one holding the broken sword in the main building.

LEGO has also solved the problem of minifigs that cannot sit because they use a part that does not allow it by offering alternative assemblies that allow an acceptable pose. It is well seen, many fans will undoubtedly want to install the characters in "advice" mode and the proposed solution will allow it without having to tinker or replace the legs and fixed parts with mobile versions.

For those wondering, dwarves are taller than hobbits and shorter than humans. The hierarchy of legs in different formats used here is therefore correct. Too bad for the hair with the same mold for all the elves, some subtle variations would have been welcome in my opinion.

On arrival, I must say that I am rather impressed by what LEGO offers us in this box: the construction is magnificent, the assembly is entertaining and the whole exudes a certain grace with many sub-assemblies all in finesse and details that pay a fine tribute to the architecture of Rivendell.

Too bad for the very high public price of the product which will not put it within the reach of all budgets, but I think that this set has at least the merit of giving us value for our money both aesthetically with a concern fairly satisfactory detail and that of the pleasure linked to the assembly phase which will last a good fifteen hours. It's not always the case. It will then remain to find a place of choice for this bulky but very elegant product.

Today we take a quick tour of the LEGO ICONS set 40586 Moving Truck, a small box of 301 pieces currently offered from €180 of purchase without restriction of range on the official online store and in LEGO Stores.

The calculation is quickly made for those who have waited to buy a copy of the LEGO ICONS Modular Buildings Collection set 10312 Jazz Club sold at the public price of 229.99 €: they will automatically obtain this small promotional product loosely matched with the modular 2023. Others will have to find enough to reach the minimum amount required to take advantage of the offer.

In the box, enough to assemble a moving truck with a vintage look and some furniture that will take place in the vehicle. Two minifigs are provided, a woman in work clothes and a guy who seems to be the owner of the furniture.

Assembling the contents of this box only takes a few minutes, but the product obtained has some good surprises in store: the trunk of the truck is equipped with a retractable ramp and a removable roof and all the additional elements of the product can be loaded respecting the storage order detailed in the instruction booklet. A moving truck that allows you to take everything in one go, that's pretty cool.

For the rest, the cabin of the vehicle seems a little narrow to me even if it highlights the huge rear trunk, there are a handful of stickers to stick on, two of which are flanked by the logo of the sign on a white background which are not like usually not fitting with the color of their support and the two minifigs provided are content with rather common elements and neutral legs. The blue of the woman's torso is still not matched with the color of the legs, LEGO is certainly in continuity on this subject.

We will console ourselves by assembling some pretty furniture designed in the manner of those usually present in the different Modulars from the LEGO range and these different objects can then be used to fill out a few empty spaces in one building or another.

In short, this promotional set is rather interesting but the minimum amount required to get it offered is in the high bracket. It's up to you to see if this little truck and its accessories are worth the effort of paying for a few sets at their public price or if you have to skip it and perhaps turn to the secondary market later. .

It's a revolution! The world has been waiting impatiently for this product and it is finally available: the LEGO reference 5007289 Brick Scooper Set is on sale on the official online store for the modest sum of 17.99 € and it allows according to the official description to win "up to 40% less time compared to storing by hand".

In the box, two storage shovels and a brick separator, nothing more, but there is therefore in principle enough to pick up bricks without getting tired and optimizing the time devoted to this tedious task. The larger of the two, the blue one, measures 19 cm long by 13 cm wide. The smallest, the red one, measures 12.5 cm long by 9 cm wide.

In use, we cannot really say that it is convincing: the lip which should in principle pass under the bricks that we are trying to pick up is too thick and not beveled enough. It is therefore necessary to constantly "help" the bricks to fit into the space provided by pushing them by hand. The only significant gain in productivity is linked to the possibility of picking up more bricks at the same time than by taking them by hand and watching the smaller ones fall which will then have to be picked up.

It also lacks an important element directly related to the principle of the product but the visual on the packaging does not lie about it: something to gently push the bricks towards the container, like a small brush. Even if it means innovating in such a disruptive way, I would also have added a handle to the bottom of the shovels to be able to hold them properly.

But the experienced designers behind it will no doubt have imagined that it would then be impossible to use these two shovels as lockers for storing pens and mail. The secondary use of the product following the disappointment linked to its manifest ineffectiveness was planned from the start, it is well seen.

It is clearly indicated on the packaging, it is not a product manufactured directly by LEGO, it is the company Room Copenhagen which is responsible for producing these shovels under official license and everything is made in China. note that the name of the product on the box indicates that three "pieces" are present in the packaging, there are actually only two shovels and the separator counts as an element in its own right of the product. The public price pill of this box, 18 €, will therefore probably go a little better this way.

In short, it is in my opinion a product whose usefulness is frankly questionable, but the presence of the LEGO brand logo on the packaging will be enough to make it an original gift when it comes to pleasing a fan. unconditional who considers that because it's LEGO, it's necessarily the most beautiful thing he's seen in his life. We continue today with a quick overview of the contents of the LEGO Star Wars set 75350 Clone Commander Cody Helmet, a box of 766 pieces which will be available from March 1, 2023 at the retail price of €69.99 and which is already available for pre-order on the official online store.

As for the helmet of the set 75349 Captain Rex Helmet which will be marketed at the same time as this one, the LEGO-style interpretation of the accessory worn by this second character was eagerly awaited by fans of the animated series The Clone Wars. Cody, or CC-224, is a much-loved Clone Officer, so his arrival on the shelves of those who have grown or aged with the show's seven seasons is welcome news.

As with Rex's helmet, fans will immediately recognize the owner of this helmet where others may see it as just another Clone Trooper. The small pad-printed presentation plate may therefore seem superfluous to some, but it will be useful to others. I haven't changed my mind on this specific point since the launch of this range of derivative products in 2020: I think that the huge logo of the LEGO Star Wars range present on these plates is a bit superfluous or at least too prominent.

The aesthetic approximations are once again numerous and even if the general look of the product leaves no doubt on the subject treated, it will be necessary to accommodate these adjustments imposed by the format of this range of derived products.

It is also especially at the level of the lower edge of the helmet that things get a little tricky with stacks of parts that struggle to embody the curves and angles of the object. The top of the product is more faithful even if we find the inevitable dome based on stairs and visible tenons that we can choose to consider as the signature of this range or as an aesthetic shortcut that lacks finish.

The assembly process offers some interesting techniques that allow to obtain the final result and we do not get bored except perhaps for the first few steps which give the impression of building the heart of a large figure in Brickheadz format .

We even take a little pleasure in then building sub-assemblies which seem completely irrelevant at the time and which then find their place on the construction, there is something very satisfying in seeing the black zone being gradually framed by the structure of the helmet over the pages.

The only moving part of the product is the side antenna attached to a Ball joint, pity that this area remains gray. We can also wonder if it would not have been wise to fill the hollow of the cheeks with darker pieces to reinforce the relief effect on these areas as is the case at the back of the helmet, it will be it may be possible to obtain an acceptable result by adjusting the lighting of the exhibition site.

Once again, this derivative product is not a top-of-the-range model which would be intended to allow a perfect replica of the helmet to be displayed, it is just a very stylized interpretation which tries to remain in the format imposed by the exercise while remaining easily identifiable. The goal is therefore achieved, Cody finally has the tribute he deserves in a range of exhibition products undoubtedly considered by LEGO as "accessible" and "affordable".

There are only 9 decals on this model, 8 less than Rex's helmet, and these decals blend in a bit better with the landscape than the ones used on the reproduction of the other Clone Officer's helmet. The background of these stickers does not match the color of the parts on which they are placed, but the surfaces here are less exposed and more reduced and we quickly forget this defect.

The two helmets exhibited together form a nice combination of derivative products which should satisfy fans, but the bill will still be steep: you will have to pay 70 € per helmet, this is the new price set by LEGO for these models of a twenty centimeters high which offer only a very short assembly experience and which are only intended to end their career on a shelf. With a little patience, it will obviously be possible to get them for much less from the usual retailers, so it's up to everyone to see if the desire takes over the potential savings.
