super bricks pack king lego 5 1

Today we are going around a new pack "Royal" offered by the Super Briques brand with an unofficial mini-set that allows you to assemble a king and his throne. It is no coincidence that this product is currently arriving on the shelves of the brand, the latter obviously benefits from the marketing from August 3 of the LEGO Icons set. 10305 Lion Knights'Castle. You already know if you follow, the big set in question includes a queen of the Knights of the Lion and Super Bricks had the idea to complete the cast with a king.

This small pack of 81 pieces sold for €19.99 therefore brings together enough to assemble a throne, a minifig of the king and some accessories. Several elements are personalized thanks to the UV printing process: the king's torso, the shield, the armor, the banner fixed on the throne and a pretty Tile 2x2 which puts forward a "royal decree".

The throne composed of 69 pieces is rather well designed, it will in any case match with the other elements of the set 10305 Lion Knights'Castle. It's opulent, a little vintage and on arrival perfectly in the spirit of the Classic Castle universe. Note that the assembly instructions can be downloaded from the brand's website, they are accessible via a QR code placed on the back of the product packaging.

As with many custom minifigs, the design on the minifig's torso won't be to everyone's taste. It is a very personal interpretation on the part of the brand which also takes into account the technical limitations imposed by the printing process used. The photos that I present to you here do not really serve the product, with this level of zoom, it is easy to distinguish the dotted line from the printed area. Seen from a "normal" distance, the rendering is more pleasing to the eye and will not shock in the middle of other stamped figurines.

La Tile with the parchment is rather well done, we manage to read the title and the rest of the pattern is thin enough for the rendering to be acceptable. The solid blue on the shield also flirts with the technical limitations of the UV printing process, but the grainy appearance is only visible from very close. The cape provided is not an official version, it was made by a small artisanal company based in Nantes, Flo's Daydream. The accessory is largely of LEGO production level.

super bricks pack king lego 7

Some may be surprised that the emblem present on both the banner, the armor and the shield is not the one imagined by LEGO for the Lion Knights, but Super Bricks has done its homework and this interpretation allows teaches him to stay out of trouble. However, the relationship between the two products remains almost obvious thanks to the assortment of colors used, that's the main thing.

I remind you that the brand only uses new official LEGO parts for these small packs, this is an important detail. For those who wonder why Super Briques does not pad print its parts, the process requires the manufacture of a relatively large quantity of parts to amortize the fixed costs (plates of clichés, pads) and the same product pad printed and manufactured in limited series would see its price sales at least double or even triple to be profitable, taking into account the fact that the brand that markets it is a company that pays its taxes and duties.

This new product on a theme much appreciated by nostalgic fans will not necessarily appeal to everyone, there are already several "official" kings in the LEGO catalog, including the one present in the 13th series of collectible characters marketed in 2015 and you have some you may already have one on hand. However, we cannot blame Super Bricks for staying too much in its comfort zone by simply printing a few Tiles and other lambda bricks: trying to seduce LEGO fans with this type of pack is always a bit risky bet, to see if it will quickly find its audience on the occasion of the launch of the big castle celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Mark.

75337 lego starwars at te walker 1

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75337 AT-TE Walker, a box of 1082 pieces which will be available at the retail price of €139.99 from August 1, 2022 on the official online store and in LEGO Stores.

Long-time collectors may already have the version of the set on hand. 4482 AT-TE marketed in 2003, that of the set 7675 AT-TE Walker marketed in 2008, or that of the set 75019 AT-TE launched in 2013. Others may have spent their money on the version inspired by the anime series Star Wars Rebels and marketed in 2016 under the reference 75157 Captain Rex's AT-TE. The AT-TE is therefore a real chestnut tree in the LEGO Star Wars range, there is always a LEGO version available in the catalog for fans and this year it is the turn of this new interpretation.

Is it necessary to specify it once again, this is a toy for children and not an ultra-detailed exhibition model. There is therefore no point in criticizing the product for its shortcomings in terms of design, proportions or finish, this is not the purpose of this box and the emphasis here is above all on the playability and the possibility of handling this AT- TE without breaking everything. That being said, the construction may eventually find its place on a shelf in the middle of other sets on the same theme without having to blush.

The AT-TE is very quickly assembled but the process is relatively interesting with an internal structure based on Technic elements on which the six legs and the various sub-assemblies which constitute the cabin of the machine are grafted. We feel that this toy was designed with solidity and playability in mind, nothing comes loose or falls during handling.

The designer has not reinvented the wheel this year and this new interpretation shares many techniques and finishing details with the previous versions even if the most observant will note some welcome aesthetic improvements in the finish of the dropouts which are now truly faithful to the version seen on screen.

75337 lego starwars at te walker 8

75337 lego starwars at te walker 7

The adjustment of the cabin on the internal structure is correctly executed and the few somewhat empty spaces which could have allowed a glimpse of the interior of the machine are blocked by the addition of four panels which come to "close" these angles a little open in the center of the building. The technique used may seem a little hasty but the result is effective and that is the main thing about a product that is not primarily intended to serve as an exhibition model.

The cockpit is removable, a Clone can be installed there and this sub-assembly is not likely to come off thanks to a Technic axis which prevents the whole thing from coming out of its tracks inadvertently. We find two Stud Shooters new generation under the main barrel, they are perfectly integrated but they can also be removed if their presence bothers you.

The legs have not been designed to allow them to be oriented according to your mood of the day, they fall into their final position when the AT-TE is placed on the ground and the two central legs remain vaguely movable because they are not fixed to the body of the machine by a single pin.

The transport of the AT-TE is facilitated by the presence of a handle which avoids having to grab the machine from below. This no-frills handle is very well integrated, it is very discreet and it does not disfigure the construction. The different internal spaces are easily accessible, just move the side and top panels that only fit on a Technic pin or two clips.

There's not much inside this AT-TE, but there's plenty of room with nine slots in total to fit the five included minifigs, collectors can even complete the squad with some Clones from the set 75036 Utapau Troopers marketed in 2014, even if the figurines will not be coordinated with each other.

The sheet of stickers provided brings its share of details to the cabin but the gray background of these stickers is, as often, not perfectly matched with the color of the parts on which they must be installed. More annoyingly, the two emblems are not centered correctly with a black border that becomes uneven when the two stickers are removed from the board.

75337 lego starwars at te walker 11

75337 lego starwars at te walker 16

The endowment in figurines here is rather correct with enough to have fun from the unpacking without having to go back to the checkout. The Battle droids are still so sad, LEGO doesn't really make an effort about them anymore and the three copies provided are as usual not stamped. Cody is here accompanied by a Clone Gunner and three identical infantrymen, it's probably never enough for die-hard 212th Battalion fans, but I think the assortment is enough to have a group effect and build a small basic army to possibly expand later with other miniatures.

The pad prints are very accomplished with a real attention to detail, the Clone Gunner already seen in 2017 in the set 75182 Republic Fighter Tank enjoy some extra detail on the torso and legs here, the Clone Troopers lose their orange arms and black hips but gain a bit of a bump on the torso and this new version of Cody really detailed and true to the outfit seen in the screen should easily find its audience among the fans.

The designer has even taken the attention to detail to include the character's signature scar on the figure's face. I'm not a fan of the accessory that serves as a visor on Cody's helmet, it's probably time for LEGO to innovate a bit and produce an element that fits better with the helmet or, let's dream a little, that the manufacturer us offers a helmet that directly integrates the accessory.

The three Battle droids provided in this box are accompanied by a Spider droid which barely serves as a credible opposition to the AT-TE. A Crab Droid would perhaps have been more appropriate to offer something more substantial and to be completely faithful to the confrontation seen on the screen. the Spider droid is relatively simple, it is correctly executed but it is not equipped with a Stud Shooter which could have brought some playability.

75337 lego starwars at te walker 13

75337 lego starwars at te walker 17 5

A slightly annoying technical detail: the pad printing of the orange area on the helmet of the three Clone Troopers is significantly distorted and shifted forward. The point of the pattern disappears while it is clearly visible on the official renderings which are therefore a little too optimistic compared to the result obtained "in real life". This defect will go unnoticed by many young fans but it should annoy some more demanding collectors who will find once again that LEGO does not really keep the promises made on the digital renderings of its products.

In short, this AT-TE is undoubtedly the most complete and detailed ever released by LEGO and there is no reason to pay a high price for one of the previous versions via the secondary market. The promised playability is there and the machine can also end its career on the corner of a shelf while waiting for LEGO to decide one day to offer us a real model of the thing. The public price of the set is high, but it will be enough to wait for other brands to offer this product to be able to obtain it around a hundred euros, which seems to me to be a more suitable price.

10306 lego icons atari 2600 vcs 1

Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Icons set 10306 Atari 2600, a large box of 2532 pieces which will be available on the official online store and in LEGO Stores at the retail price of €239.99 from August 1, 2022.

For those who did not know this game console, it is a product launched in 1977 in the USA and which was not marketed in France until 1981. It was then a console which brought into the children's lounge the most cult games available on arcade terminals. LEGO offers us here to assemble the "S" version of this console dating from 1980 with its wood finish and its four switches while the previous version had six of these switches and the next one lost the somewhat kitsch facade .

We're not going to lie to each other, this new console in LEGO version is in my opinion a bit to the NES what the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is to the Ford Mustang: a little less sexy stooge that will highlight the another construction on the same shelf by playing on the range and collection effect. Although it was the first console for many children, the Atari VCS is not at the level of the NES when it comes to evoking the cross-generational aspect of the product.

I am one of those who had an Atari VCS in their hands in their childhood and yet the three games provided in this box are far from being those that I remember. In my memories, I mainly played Pong, Space Invaders or Pac-Man, but I also remember having quickly abandoned this console whose catalog of games contained hundreds of sloppy and uninteresting titles sold too expensive for my money. poached.

It is moreover the joystick that will have marked me the most in this product, the design of the console itself being simply consistent with the furniture and equipment such as the television or the record player available at the time in my living room and like many of us, I then turned to the Nintendo NES marketed in the 80s.

As for the console of the set 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System, LEGO feels here obliged to add something to brighten up a somewhat boring construction process. We are assembling the reproduction of a console whose design is not very exciting and we had to offer something to alternate between the phases of stacking black pieces, setting up Tiles wisely aligned and some more entertaining sequences.

The public price of the product is obviously affected by this "filling" which imposes on us a small storage unit for the three cartridges supplied and three mini-constructions which are intended to offer a 3D representation of the games concerned. I think that many slightly nostalgic fans would have gladly contented themselves with the console, its controller and one or two cartridges to stay under the 200 € mark.

10306 lego icons atari 2600 vcs 16

10306 lego icons atari 2600 vcs 6

The aesthetics of the product speaks for itself, the assembly of this model is not the ultimate creative challenge and it is only the subassembly which includes the switches, the joystick and the kid's room that bring a bit of fun. It is also the subject that imposes this relative monotony, hard to blame the designer on this point.

With the exception of the frame surrounding the switches and the facade with a very correct wood effect, the console is completely black and there is no escape from the usual technical problem: many parts are scratched, marked or damaged upon unpacking and finish of the object frankly suffers from this lack of care from the manufacturer. The NES escaped the carnage with its gray surface, the Atari VCS will have more difficulty passing for a pretty high-end model depending on the lighting used.

The entrails of the console conceal a small staging of the bedroom of a kid living in the 80s with his boombox, his video cassette, his wall telephone, his CRT television and a few posters on the walls. It's totally cliche but nicely done with a simple mechanism that unfolds the scene when the console cover is pulled forward. Why not even if this subset also contributes to soaring the public price of the product.

The controller is on the other hand very well designed, it is really illusion and the designer has even thought of integrating something to manage the return of the stick to the central position after each manipulation. This level of attention is appreciable, it only depends on a few judiciously chosen and used parts and the result here is worthy of a top-of-the-range product which wants to pay homage to the reference controller. All those who have had an Atari 2600 controller in their hands remember the difficulty in taming the accessory and everyone then had their own technique and way of handling this rustic but terribly effective controller for the time. Too bad for the absence of a reproduction of the paddle which allowed to feast on Pong.

The three cartridges are dressed in huge stickers with a few references to different LEGO universes, they really look like the cartridges that those who have played on this console have manipulated to their heart's content and you would almost believe it without looking too closely . We regret the use of matte plates with their large injection points for the back of the cartridges, it's ugly.

I would have preferred Pitfall, Pac-Man or even Space Invaders to the Centipede, Adventure and Asteroids games, but it will be up to everyone to have an opinion on the selection offered based on their childhood memories. The small cabinet, greedy in parts, becomes obvious because it is there and that we can store the three cartridges there but it is once again a dispensable element which inflates the bill.

10306 lego icons atari 2600 vcs 20

10306 lego icons atari 2600 vcs 18

The three mini-scenes don't add much to the concept, we won't really know where to put them and I'm not sure that the three games selected deserved this brick-based adaptation. These three constructions have at least the merit of bringing a little fun to the construction process, the idea being to pretend that the game materializes in "real" form out of the cartridge. The assembly of these three modules offers a bit of diversity over the pages, the instruction booklet is intelligently balanced so you never have to get too bored.

I'm not making you a drawing, everything that is not on the three sheets of stickers that I scanned for you (see above) is therefore pad-printed. The console and its controller are fully dressed in pad-printed parts and it's very successful, with the possible exception of a slight, slightly fuzzy border around the text surmounting each of the switches. Note that the two switches on the right return to their initial position thanks to the use of two rubber bands.

Once is not custom, LEGO provides a minifig with this console and the young man is dressed in a nice t-shirt flanked by the Atari brand logo. It's then up to you to customize the figurine so that it looks like you if you intend to stage yourself in the rocking room with green carpet and brown walls.

This set is obviously a niche product for nostalgic forty or fifty-somethings, it's a console that has had a little trouble going through the ages except for a few diligent retrogamers. We can't deny that the Atari 2600 played a major role in the transition between arcade machines and home consoles with the porting of titles that have become cults, but at 240 € the box, it will be necessary to accumulate real memories to want to pay for this step back to build without then being able to play with it.

I am one of those who are in principle the target of this product, but I will still ignore it: there are too many interesting sets to come this year, and choices will have to be made. The Atari 2600 in the LEGO version could have seduced me as it is, but unfortunately it comes out at the same time as other products which leave it no chance and its price positioning does not, in my view, make it a product that could complete a large summer order.

76223 lego marvel infinity saga nano gauntlet 5

We are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga set 76223 Nano Gauntlet, a box of 675 pieces which will be available on the official online store and in LEGO Stores at the retail price of €69.99 from August 1, 2022.

As for the gauntlet from the LEGO Marvel set 76191 Infinity Gauntlet (590 pieces - 79.99 €), the presentation base is here identical to that of the helmets, heads and other masks marketed by LEGO in the Marvel, DC Comics or Star Wars ranges and we therefore find at the foot of the construction a small plate of presentation which confirms to us that it is indeed the other famous glove of the Marvel universe.

A very colorful internal structure with a few hooks, sub-assemblies that clip onto the four sides, five fingers and the six Infinity Stones, the inventory of 675 parts including just over 60 elements in metallic Silver and 70 pieces in Metallic Gold is very quickly assembled. Both products are exactly the same size with 31 cm high base included.

The comparison with the other glove ends there. This one seems to me indeed much more faithful to the version seen on the screen in the film Avengers: Endgame than the left-handed musketeer accessory from the other set. The proportions here are correct and the glove is human-sized with its 25 cm high and 12 cm wide off the base.

The shape of the base of the glove does not distort the object, the integration of the metallic elements is very well done, the joints present in each of the fingers allow the presentations to be varied a little and the thumb here is better integrated with the rest of the construction than on Thanos' glove with a Ball joint which certainly remains visible from certain angles but which also knows how to be more discreet depending on the orientation of the model.

There are still a few angles managed a little roughly in places but overall it is very decent. Get ready, the middle fingers will once again swarm on social networks.

76223 lego marvel infinity saga nano gauntlet 6

The six Stones of Infinity integrated on this Nano Gauntlet are not all identical to those present on the glove of Thanos, it is a pity. The Stone of the Soul is indeed here composed of a single orange piece while that of the glove of Thanos was more textured. The five other stones are fitting and we will remember that the four gems placed on the back of the hand make use of roller skates and Shoulder Bags with on arrival a very convincing integration.

We could once again discuss the interest of adding the small plate flanked by the LEGO logo and the name of the product, I am not convinced that its presence is essential even if it obviously reinforces the "collector" side of the set.

This product does not deserve too much thought about it: it will easily find its place between some comics or on the corner of a desk and by possibly adding a few LEDs under the stones it will have its little effect. Those who already own Thanos' glove will therefore have a left hand and a right hand to line up on their shelves.

Don't kid yourself, there are plenty of people lining up BrickHeadz figures or helmets from the Star Wars range in their display cases. More seriously, I find this Nano Gauntlet very successful and much neater than Thanos' glove. I will still wait to find it around fifty euros so as not to have the impression of having paid a little too much for it.

40574 lego brand store 10

Today we quickly go around the contents of the set 40574 LEGO Brand Store, a small box of 541 pieces which will be available at the retail price of €36.99 from August 1, 2022. You read correctly, this is not a promotional product offered subject to purchase or on the occasion of the inauguration of an official brand store, this set is a simple product from the LEGO catalog. This box will also take over from another set on the same theme, the reference 40305 Microscale LEGO Brand Store (362 pieces - €24.99) marketed in 2018.

LEGO therefore offers us to "relive happy visits to a LEGO® Store"with a shop here represented as a"store of the future"and which should allow us to"play shopping"thanks to the two minifigs provided. I'm not making this up, it's in the official product description.

The official LEGO store of the future is therefore a modular open space without roof or stairs, you take a ladder to go upstairs and there is still no employee to serve customers. It was already the case in the set 40305 Microscale LEGO Brand Store who also contented himself with providing us with two clients.

This product of self-promotion, or self-congratulation, highlights the other know-how of the brand on the sidelines of the manufacture of plastic parts: the industrial production of stickers. There are 40 in this box with enough to fill the shelves with sets bearing the image of the different "house" ranges and dress the exterior walls of the store. LEGO makes no effort, the sign on the front is also a sticker. It was probably a bit too much to ask to get a pretty Tile pad printed.

40574 lego brand store 5

40574 lego brand store 6

It will therefore be necessary to go to a LEGO Store or on the Online Shop to buy a LEGO Store which will then serve as product placement in a child's room to remind him that he must go to a LEGO Store to buy other LEGO products. . It's high-flying marketing knowing that you have to pay for this box, it's not a promotional product.

On the form, there are some interesting constructions in this box with a rather successful micro-locomotive and a Disney micro-castle. We also find all the usual spaces of the official stores with a Pick A Brick wall, the Minifigure Factory available in some shops and a fun corner with animal bodies behind which customers can take pictures of themselves. The LEGO Store is also a place where we have fun, it has to be known.

The two minifigs provided are not exclusive, the girl's torso is also delivered in the set 10303 Loop Coaster, the coral colored legs are in the CITY set 60337 Express Passenger, the boy's torso has been in half a dozen boxes since 2020.

In short, I'm a little skeptical about this product sold for €37, which is ultimately just a somewhat elaborate promotional item. If it was offered on condition of purchase, even for a high minimum amount, I could have understood the process, but as it stands I can't see myself spending €37 for it. It's up to you.
