All-Terrain Defense Pod (AT-DP)

It's the day of the bipod (or biped, it's as you want) with the 9th episode of Briquefan which gives pride of place to the AT-STs seen on Endor and it is therefore the opportunity to highlight the last realization of Omar Ovalle who for his part attacked the AT-DP [ All-Terrain Defense Pod].

Originally designed by Joe Johnston for the Battle of Hoth, this machine will finally make its appearance in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, which will begin airing in the fall of 2014.

Hoping that LEGO takes advantage of the presence of this AT-DP in the series to put one in a future box, it will change us from the multiple versions of the AT-ST accumulated over the years ...

AT-DP made its first appearance during the panel devoted to the series during New York Comic Con 2013.

Other views are available on Omar's flickr gallery.

Mother Talzin & Rebel Commando by Omar Ovalle

Two Star Wars busts of Omar Ovalle to end the day (or start the next one) with Mother Talzin, leader of the Nightsisters clan on the left, and a Rebel Commando, Endor version on the right.

Omar is reaching the end of his concept, which is not always unanimous among fans of LEGO but which has the merit of being original and creative, with an impressive gallery of busts to discover at this address.

We like or not this particular way of reproducing faces and of declining the appearance of key characters from the Star Wars universe, the use of third-party fabrics to dress certain reproductions, etc ... but as I already have said here several times, I respect the desire to bring some fresh air into the small world of Star Wars MOCs.

Imperial Star Destroyer by Jerac

A small (or large) MOC for the road on this Monday morning, after a weekend full of rumors and diverse and varied speculations with this impressive ISD (Imperial Star Destroyer) offered by Jerac.

I see some coming, it's not worth comparing this MOC with the set 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer just available for sale, the two ships have nothing in common: Neither the number of parts, nor the dimensions, nor the cost price ... I remind you that the MOCeurs generally free themselves from all the constraints to which LEGO have to face. Some produce elaborate creations without restrictions on the number of pieces, the type of pieces, the size or the final weight of the work, where the other must offer a product with an acceptable content / price / margin / playability ratio. .

That being said, the ISD of Jerac, while SNOT (For Studs Not On Top), incorporates more than 40.000 pieces, measures about two meters long, weighs about fifty kilos and thanks to this technique becomes a real exhibition model. I also wonder how many people discovering this MOC on assembly photos like the one above will take a few seconds to understand that these are LEGO parts.

Other photos, notably of the design phase of this ISD with views of the interior structure, can be seen on Jerac's flickr gallery.

Mos Eisley Cantina by alexbastille

The and 75052 Mos Eisley Winery is already available for sale in the LEGO Stores (But not yet on the Lego shop) and some blog readers wasted no time in acquiring this box, sometimes in several copies, and modifying the original LEGO design to get something more fleshed out.

Above, a creation ofalexbastille who, a little disappointed with the modularity of the official set, undertook to create a less "rickety" version of the inn while retaining the function which allows the thing to be closed in on itself. We thus obtain in open mode an alley of Mos Eisley and in closed mode the cantina.

Below is a modification of james, made using two boxes from the set 75052, to add an arcade without distorting the original design of the place as it was designed by LEGO.

Investing in two boxes of a rather expensive set (LEGO public price: 87.99 €) to hope to obtain a result a little more convincing than that proposed by LEGO allows not having to be satisfied with the minimum service made in Billund, but the overall budget may dampen the enthusiasm of some.

As they say, when you love, you don't count. Regarding the LEGO Star Wars range, I would rather say: When you love, you don't even count ...

X-Men: X-Mansion

Another project dating from the Cuusoo era which reached the fateful threshold of 10.000 supporters required for a passage in the review phase.

It is therefore the "Modular" X Mansion de DarthKy which joins the two other projects already validated for the next review phase scheduled for next September: Assault on Wayne Manor whose DarthKy is also the author and L'Invisible Hand de LDiEgo.

These three projects are unlikely to survive the next phase of review conducted by the LEGO IDEAS team. Their only merit will ultimately have been to offer great visibility to the Cuusoo/Ideas concept by mobilizing fans from all walks of life en masse. Next...
