It is amazon Japan who is now responsible for unveiling the LEGO DC Comics set 76240 Batmobile Tumbler (2049 pieces) by putting the product online in its catalog.
This new version of the Tumbler will take over from that of the set 76023 The Tumbler marketed in 2014 with some subtle changes to the design of the vehicle. The Tumbler is displayed here on a rotating stand flanked by a small presentation plate, it measures 45 cm long, 25 cm wide and 16 cm high. Batman and the Joker accompany the Tumbler in this new box, the two unseen minifigs are presented on a roof cornice identical to those already seen in the sets 76139 1989 Batmobile et 76161 1989 Bat Wing.
Marketing in principle planned for the month of November 2021.
Bonus: The set is already in pre-order at JB Spielwaren and the brand also offers the LEGO DC Comics set 76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown:
Those who follow the news of the LEGO Shop already know: The set 76023 The Tumbler, released in August 2014, is definitely out of the LEGO catalog.
All those who planned to acquire it at the beginning of the year are at their expense: initially sold at the public price of 199.99 €, this set is now trading around 400 € at amazon et on eBay ou 250 € on Bricklink (from US sellers).
If you find one or more copies in a toy store near you, please let us know in the comments, I'm sure you'll be doing a few disappointed fans who were secretly hoping that this box would still be marketed a favor. in 2016.
Artifex has posted its review of the set LEGO DC Comics 76023 The Tumbler, and this video, which uses the usual stop-motion assembly technique perfectly mastered by the author, is also an opportunity to compare the official LEGO version with the MOC of the Tumbler with integrated Batpod marketed for several years by the one who is also a talented MOCeur.
The comparison between the two models, however, only makes sense from an aesthetic point of view, the LEGO version consists of more than 1800 parts where that of Artifex only includes less than 500 parts.
I'm not sure this review will convince you to spend more than $ 200 on set 76023 if you've already decided that the price of this box is too high for your budget or for what it has to offer. But it's always a pleasure to see a set assembled in a few minutes and in a fluid way, the design of which seems to be unanimous among fans.

In response to the numerous emails received this morning regarding the "availability" of the LEGO DC Comics 76023 The Tumbler set on the LEGO Shop, a few clarifications for anyone who is clearly concerned about the message for this set "will be shipped by September 1, 2014 "or who still have not received their order confirmation.
If you are logged in to the LEGO Shop with your VIP account, you can order this set at this address.
LEGO indicates that it is currently facing technical difficulties, and a very explicit message is displayed in the basket during the ordering process:
... We are currently experiencing technical difficulties due to an update of our system and your order may take up to 24 hours to be processed. Please note that: If your order qualifies for promotions, they will be applied, but will not be displayed at checkout.Express shipping and payment with your VIP points are not available during this period.La product availability may be inaccurate Meanwhile. You will receive your confirmation email late. It may take up to 24 hours... |
There is therefore no reason to worry, the orders will be well processed, the set is available and delivery will take place before September 1st.
Remember to look in the "Order status"From the LEGO Shop, you can follow the progress of your order. Mine is clearly indicated as"Being processed".
Update : The operation of the Shop returned to normal this morning.
As expected, the 76023 The Tumbler set is now available for identified VIP customers in the LEGO Shop.
The only downside, LEGO seems to have some technical problems with its online store and the set is announced as deliverable by September 1 without further details.
A message invoking technical difficulties "due to a system update"is also displayed during the order validation process and product availability is indicated as potentially"inaccurate"in this same message.
VIP points are not counted during the validation of the order, but they will be added to your account later.
If you are a member of the VIP program, do not forget to identify yourself to be able to order this set (Product sheet available at this address).
