A little fun with the cover of the American magazine TV Guide for the period from April 21 to May 4, 2014 which announces the broadcast of the special episode featuring the Simpsons in a LEGO version.
We note that the head of the minifigure of Marge present on this visual has nothing to do with that of its official version ...
"Brick Like Me" will be broadcast on May 4th on FOX in the USA.
The mystery is finally lifted! Here are the official visuals for The Simpsons series of 16 collectible minifigs (LEGO reference 71005), with in order: Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Bart Simpson, Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, Grampa, Homer Simpson, Itchy, Krusty the Clown, Lisa Simpson, Maggie Simpson, Milhouse, Marge Simpson, Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum, Scratchy and Chief Wiggum.
Itchy and Scratchy are therefore in separate bags and Moe goes by the wayside. The nerdly.co.uk listing was therefore incorrect.
Availability announced for next May.
LEGO designers like to leave a few personal elements more or less hidden in the sets they design: Vehicle license plates, names on badges of various and varied characters, etc ... Any occasion is good to slip a reference , initials or a date.
Marcos Bessa, talented designer who is notably at the origin of the sets 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout, 10236 Ewok Village et 21108 Ghostbusters, slipped some very personal references in the house of the Simpsons of which he is the designer.
For example, Bart's bedroom calendar (top left in the photo above) has a red cross on the date of March 25 which is actually the designer's birthday.
In the garage, the two spray cans on the shelf are in the colors of Portugal (green and red), Marcos Bessa's country of origin.
To learn more about the sets created by this LEGO designer, do not hesitate to visit his brand new website which lists each of his creations.
We no longer present Marc-André Caron alias MonsieurCaron. Brickfilmer of talent, his works are taken up by many media and his latest video should quickly invade all the websites or blogs of geeks on the planet.
Here is what is called a "couch gag", literally a"couch gag", in the spirit of those scenes which punctuate the launch of each episode of the animated series The Simpsons and which all end in the same way with the whole family gathered on the sofa in the living room. These little intros are sometimes produced by big names in cartoon or cinema, as was the case with Guillermo Del Toro for the special Halloween episode in October 2013 (see this article) or more recently with Sylvain Chomet, the director of the "Triplettes de Belleville" (See the video).
It has therefore become an essential exercise in style and MonsieurCaron takes us here in a cross-over delirious with the Simpson family and the characters from The LEGO Movie. I'm not making the pitch, I'll let you discover all this in pictures.
You can find all of MonsieurCaron's videos on his Youtube channel and brickfun.net.
The bags containing the 16 characters of the series to collect are online at amazon UK, and the description posted online gives us a more precise idea of the characters present:
"... Woo-hoo! It's The Simpsons! The LEGO Minifigures series continues with this great collection of 16 of your favorite characters from TV's longest-running comedy. there's Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson, as well as Grampa, Ned Flanders, Ralph Wiggum, Nelson Muntz, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Chief Wiggum, Krusty the Clown, Itchy & Scratchy, Mr. Burns and Milhouse. Each The Simpsons minifigure comes in a sealed 'mystery' bag with its own special accessories, display plate and collector's leaflet. Buy a bag, open it up and see which one you get! ..."
The list put online a few months ago by the site nerdly.co.uk was slightly different: "... including Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Apu, Chief Wiggum, Moe, Itchy and Scratchy and many more of the show's iconic characters ..."
Moe was announced in this first partial list, he is not mentioned at amazon. But if Itchy & Scratchy are combined in the same bag there is still a place for Moe ...
Wait & see ...
