A little first hand info about the availability and price of the 71006 The Simpsons House set: The boxes are already in stock at the LEGO Stores and will be on the shelves soon with a preview sale reserved for VIP customers of here two to three weeks. As announced several months ago, this set is exclusive to Lego shop and the LEGO Stores.
As for the price, and there I feel that it will cringe, all I can tell you is that the public price will be less than € 250 (not by much ...).
In short, it gives you time to either change your mind and keep your money, or save to give yourself this box which should be the only one to come out in the LEGO The Simpsons range.
A series of mini-figures in sachets is also planned (LEGO reference 71005) with the following characters: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Apu, Chief Wiggum, Moe, Itchy and Scratchy and a few others ...
Because teasing is better when it lasts, here is now the back of the 71006 The Simpsons House set ...
As expected given the large number of pieces in the set, 2523 if we believe the front of the box, this is a real well furnished house ... A dollhouse for geek, in fact.
However, there are far too many walls for my taste.
Still no idea what the retail price of this set is, but now that the visuals have been posted across the internet, LEGO should rush the "official" announcement.
Finally an image of the 71006 The Simpsons House set!
It's via the forum Eurobricks where a user who knows a guy who works in the LEGO factory in Kladno (Czech Republic) posted the photo above (cropped and straightened by me) of the only set planned in the LEGO The Simpsons range for 2014 that we can finally get an idea of what this range will actually be.
2523 pieces, just that, and six minifigs: Bart Simpson, Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson, Maggie Simpson, Lisa Simpson and Ned Flanders.
The minifigs that we have seen so far for sale on eBay therefore came from this set.
It's a fact, the quality of photos plays an important role in a first impression. A bad photo, blurry, badly lit, etc ... and that's the tragedy.
To give you a chance to change your mind or confirm your first impression about Homer Simpson and Ned Flanders minifigs, here are two sets of photos from one seller's eBay listings (Click here) who took the trouble to present these two characters from all angles.
I remain mixed on the sleeves of Homer's shirt, a seam or a dark line to delimit the sleeve would not have been too much. And, to quibble, the injection site on the back of Flanders' head is a bit messy ...
First images of the "minifigs" of Marge and Lisa Simpson, at least with regard to the head and the torso. For the rest, it seems that the eBay seller has replaced the legs provided by a generic version.
Everyone will have their opinion on the final result, for my part, I am mixed ...
