Tomorrow then, because today it is not by showing the greatest originality that LEGO has decided to surprise us.
We open the box and the bag, we assemble the few parts and tadaaaaaa: It looks like a Snowspeeder. But it is, my good sir ...
The contract is fulfilled, the machine is rather nice, but that's what, we wonder what to do with it. Exhibit it next to its miniature fellows just to see what it looks like in a group? Disassemble it without regrets and hop in the loose? I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I walked around with it all evening, putting it on haphazard wanderings between the kitchen and the living room.
Like what, I am slanderous, but it is ultimately very well this Snowspeeder. Can't wait for tomorrow.
Otherwise, if you want a real Advent Calendar with cool ships, take a look at that of Mini LEGOmaniac, his father's son who is definitely not lacking in talent. It is to be seen in the dedicated topic at Brickpirate.
Contest winners Wheels of Justice on FBTB have been designated and it is two MOCs I was telling you about here that are winning the bid: This is theElectric BATWInG Batmobile by SPARKART! and Green [Hornet] Lantern Car by Carson Hart. These two achievements had greatly pleased the community and this victory is deserved.
The MOC of SPARKART !, as I said a few weeks ago, has the merit of offering a very modern alternative to the classic Batmobiles that we know and in the spirit of the prototypes offered by the automotive industry at all the shows of the planet.
Note that SPARKART! provides the .lxf file of its MOC (electric_batwing_batmobile_by_sparkart.lxf) which can thus be ordered on LEGO Design by ME for a total amount of approximately $ 50. Hurry, this service will be definitively stopped in January 2012 ...
It is at the turn of a topic on Brickpirate that I put my hand on a MOC posted in October by Icare.
This is a Ent, from Old English which means Giant, a forest spirit with the appearance of a tree. The best known of them in the LOTR universe is without a doubt Treebeard (Fangorn).
Icare carried out this MOC in January 2011 as part of a competition on Classic Castle. However, he never really finished it on the legs. And finally it's just as well like that ...
The realization is of quality: The face is well rendered, the foliage bushy and well dispersed and when one observes this MOC with a little distance, the illusion is perfect, Treebeard takes shape before our eyes.
So take some of your time, since nothing concrete is announced on the front of the license The Hobbit at LEGO, and go to the topic dedicated to this MOC on Brickpirate or the MOCpages of Icarus.
The debate arises periodically: must the X-Wing LEGO version be white or gray to be as faithful as possible to the model seen in the films of the saga?
Some defend the idea that the machine is white but aged, worn and soiled by its hours of flight and therefore displays a grayish color. Others claim that the craft has an original gray cabin.
Everyone will have their opinion on the subject and the debate will continue next year with the release of the set. 9493 X-Wing Starfighter in white as was the case for the sets 4502 X-Wing Fighter and in 2004 6212 X-Wing Fighter in 2006.
The gray version was released in 1999 with the set 7140 X-Wing Fighter which was then reissued in the set 7142 X-Wing Fighter in 2002.
Anyway, here is a 3D rendering proposed by BrickBoys under ldraw X-Wing of the set 9493 X-Wing Starfighter in gray to give you an idea of the appearance of this vessel in this color.
The file ldraw is also available for download for those interested: x-wing_attack_mode.ldr.
The court decision has fallen: Ice-Watch, a Belgian brand of trendy watches, will have to change the packaging of its products in Belgium.
The court ruled in favor of LEGO, which defended the idea that the craze aroused by Belgian watches is partly due to their packaging, which strongly resembles a block of LEGO.
I am not going to say the opposite, it would be necessary to be in bad faith ....
Ice-Watch is also subject to a fine of € 10.000 per day in the event of the sale of watches in this deceptive packaging from the service of the judgment. (thanks to antp on HFR)
